Brilliant walk and amazing native forest. Would highly recommend doing the full loop but the short Rimu loop gives a great taster

Fairly easy flat-ish track. Nice to explore the forest and listen to birds.. About an hour loop plus the Rimu loop 10min...to soak in the forest and accept the natural. Beautifully calm feeling in there.

Mangawhero Forest Walk
Easy loop trail (3.4km) through stunning forest with magnificent native trees and beautiful tree ferns, mosses, and many other plants, some of which have informative signs. Also some nice views of the river. Great for nature lovers looking for an immersive forest walk.

Nice simple little loop great to get your legs stretched close to the road end. There are many lovely walks in this areas that should be higher on your to do list then this. Follows a river up crossing it a couple of tims. Occasinal signs with some information about nature

Great short walk, our electric car battery needed to cool down and this walk was perfect. Mostly shaded and lots of good tall trees.

Great little walk, family friendly, packed with forna and flora!Well looked after paths, so no special footwear required. Though some must patches after heavy rain.The loop makes it convenient for getting back to the car, and there's lots of car parks available, as will as public toiletsWell with the stop if you're in the area.

Mangawhero Forest Walk
Excellent walk, pram friendly and immersive experience in the forest and passing the Mangawhero River too. Ideal for cover during a rainy day (when we visited). Loop walk back to the car park.
