Alcala Motel

Nice and close to town, rooms are fairly large. Have enough items in the kitchen to cook a wee meal if you don't plan on going out every night.Water pressure in the showers is far from desirable unfortunately, but is really pleased with the overall experience.

We were recommended this motel by a work mate stating their spa pool is amazing and so cool but at the time of our stay the spa pool was out of action so we booked the 1 bedroom apartment with a spa bath it was pretty good the spa bath was lovely we were in it about 2-3 times a day the bedroom is up a set of steep stairs with a king bed plus a single bed it was perfect for our small family. The unit was clean and tidy the staff/owners were great at supplying us with towels and coffee. And always had a happy voice on the phone.We definitely will be back when we get time.

Eww found half eaten McDonald's in the freezer box. Got plates out to put food on but found them with baked on food yuk. Oh well have a shower waste of time there was absolutely no pressure and the cleanliness of the place was lacking. Not expensive but way to expensive when you have to wash the dishes before you eat off them and you can pee harder than the shower.

As you would expect from the photos, the Alcala is incredibly dated. But if you're just looking for a warm place to stay, then décor doesn't really matter.General maintenance seems to have been neglected. There are poorly patched holes in the walls, wobbly stairs to a creaky mezzanine floor bedroom - which has no curtains so you're up at dawn. The bathroom is stained, paint is peeling, and the windows are always wet.We were advised at check-in that the heating didn't work and we were provided a plug in electric heater. This was sufficient to heat the space.The water pressure was poor, and the tub was stained.However - the beds were comfortable, the heater warmed the large space, and it was adequate for our stay (family of 5). We had a double and a single bed downstairs, and two singles up on the mezzanine. Note - the mezzanine floor is NOT accessible to anyone with any mobility issues.Service was good, the room was cleaned while we were out and about. The lack of maintenance made it look a bit dirty, but it seemed clean on closer inspection.Free wifi has adequate range and speed.I wouldn't book again, unfortunately. I think there are more modern alternatives in this price range.

Beautiful and quaint dwelling, comfortable beds and well furnished kitchenette. My children loved sleeping in the attic. Service was excellent. The caretaker is a wonderful person and location is ideal:close to amenities and the University /halls of residence.

This was our second time staying at this motel - great value, clean and spacious rooms, handy location, parking provided, nice staff, we'll be sure to return again. Thank you!

Rooms had very unique spanish architecture and was pretty much spotless; I could tell they had a high standard of cleanliness. The shower actually had decent water pressure unlike some other motels. The elderly gentleman at the reception was well-spoken and kind. Location was not too bad. Worth it for the price.
