Really great beach. Ample parking, very clean, and nice waters and scenery.

Red Beach
The best beach on Whangaparaoa Peninsula. Perfect for swimming, kayaking and kite fishing in an offshore breeze and a surfers paradise when it's onshore. The surf lifesaving club provides an excellent safety watch. Parking adjacent to the beach is pretty good. Uncontrolled dogs can be a nuisance.

Lots of beach to walk on, two tide pool areas, Surf Lifesaving Club and cafe onsite, bathrooms onsite, and good amount of parking even on busy day. Lots of families come here during the day, and lots of dogs are walked in the late afternoon/early evening.

I always loved Red Beach when the weather is favourable. There is lot of walks about Red Beach and the sand is just as good as the pavement. Dogs of a leash is welcome. We also went further north for some beach walking ... Always a delightful pace to be
