$40 ribs are out of a packet n were alittle to salty, slaw was also out of a packet n was so bitter to eat, wifey had to spit it out. Plus only received 4 small pieces for that price.I got a m/rare scotch and it is so thin there is noway it could be cooked any other way but well done. The mushrooms sauce was mushroom soup with alittle bit of mushroom slices added.Only star they get was the fish which i like crispy thick batter.

Perfectly fried fish with a nice crunchy batter with a generous portion of crispy fries. Tried the salt and pepper squid too which was also cooked perfectly, it was just a bit too salty for me.

Change review to 3 stars,my eggs in the Benedict were hard az owl chef,that's a first and last here chef,got it right the first time chef.First breakfast here in many years, the reviews were a big factor not coming,but had to find out for myself,not bad the egg Benny it was pretty good,smokey bacon,lots of sauce,very early so only 2 of us,it was a once a bustling business,very busy how things have dramatically changed,it's pricey compared to elsewhere,service ok,compliments to the chef today.

Fresh fish and seasonal fruit on the meal.And vegan/gluten free options are available here. We also had a nice and warm chocolate with an incredible pattern on it. Very impressed. This is a good place to have breakfast and doorstep to the beach for a walk after.

I'd give 0 stars for service if I could. Tried calling twice to place a takeaway order, and they answered, then hung up each time without saying a word. What kind of takeaway fish and chip shop doesn't take phone calls. Won't be getting mine nor my friends and family's patronage ever.

I've never been disappointed whether I eat there or order takeaway. Excellent FISH , a wide variety, and an excellent choice of burgers. friendly personnel. I consider it lucky that Neighbourhood Fish is located right in Gisborne.table service also looked great and well within social-distancing rules.

Just had a fantastic supper there this evening. Excellent service and a delicious lunch. We ate everything on our plate, so bravo to the chef for a beautifully prepared presentation and delicious flavour in all the items. If you want some wine or beer, bring your own. We called ahead of time because there didn't seem to be information about a bar at the location.
