WaiRua Escapes

We went on a much needed break away and booked the cottage at Wai Rua in Ruatangata near Whangarei. We were looking for something within our budget and also with a breakfast surprise! This incredible place with great hosts will become our regular getaway place! Spacious cottage like at home, with great breakfast supplies in the fridge - fresh organic eggs, bread, organic honey cured bacon, muesli with lots of nuts!, coffee machine, yoghurts...it was perfect. And the hot tub treat was perfect, very private spot in nature near a large tree. the cottage was super clean, expensive bed linen and cushions, the wifi worked well even though the weather was not the best - Cannot fault this place - and the lily ponds are to die for !!! Thanks Elaine !we will be back for sure....didn't want to leave !!!!

This place was absolutely stunning, we had my sister's wedding here over the weekend and it was just amazing, the hosts were awesome and so welcoming and friendly we are definelty coming here for the next wedding in our family, or even just to stay the night, we didn't wanna leave, the surroundings were something out of a movie. It was just magical to wake up to the scenery and the sounds of the waterfall it was breath taking.

Absolutely gorgeous surroundings, Elaine and Allan are wonderful hosts. I've been telling everyone I know to check this place out.

This stunning paradise is the perfect escape to tranquility. With breathtaking scenery, it is the perfect location for photography, weddings, functions and peaceful getaways. We felt like we were living in luxury on top of the world. We can't wait to come back and continue our adventures here. Highly recommended! Thank you!

I am hesitant to share how incredible our experience was as I don't want to let the secret out! What an amazing place all round. A perfect romantic birthday escape. The hot tub was such a bonus and we slept like angels on a cloud in the bed. We will be back whenever we need some rest and relaxation!
