Great walks ,mossy,green hiking paths then uphill rocky pathways up, then on to road then back down towards camp People were panning for gold in the creek as well

Goldsborough Camping Area
A lovely DoC (Department of Conservation) campsite. The toilet facilities were pretty new so a pleasure to use especially compared to some others. Have a go at panning for gold or take a walk up the hill through the forest (but make sure you grab a map and have an hour or so). Simply grab a ticket, pay the fee in the box and enjoy a good nights sleep.

Plenty of sites and spread out. I assume the toilets were new because they were very tidy and no smell. Did a bit of gold panning, it's a bit of fun at the campsite. I'd recommend this place, a bit out of the way but easy to get to and relaxing.

Nice camping ground in a rural area. No cell coverage, but it doesn't really matter for us. Stayed a night and spent some time walking around the area. Clean toilets.

Gorgeous campground with small secluded spaces. The river was lovely and the walk over the bridge and up the hill is magical.

Old gold mining remains and artefacts plus relaxing walks in beautiful rainforest combine to make this site attractive. It is a bit out of the way which, for us is another plus. You will enjoy a quiet relaxing stay here.

Great selection of campsites with private areas..lots to explore in the area which has a lot of history..shame about the goldmine over the road blocking access to and erasing the old Hotel site..might as well take the rotting sign down on the roadside..Helvetia Hotel
