Blink and you miss it! This is one you have to keep an eye out for it. Not alot of room for parking. The track was muddy as it had recently rained. Although we couldn't get right down to the water fall due to it being a steep climb up we could still get a good view. Dog friendly!! Aprox 40 minutes

What a lovely waterfall with a lovely walk to find it! Met the charming Wayne who built and maintains the track with his friend, Peter. Not an official DOC walk so not signposted in the same way but we used Google Maps and had no issues finding it. Short walk to get there, a bit slippy and had to climb some rocks at the end but nothing too challenging. Definitely worth a visit!

Bit of a slippery track and also not well maintained. Awesome if you want a real feel of trekking through the ngahere.

Wonderfully rugged, punga tracks, burbling creek, with little 'falls' on the way to the main curtain; climbing through rocks and around trees and stumps; bellbird, tui, tomtit and fantail: just beautiful. Need to be fairly sure-footed. We went when there had been rain.

The ~11m high waterfall is a short 10-20min walk from the highway. The path is paved" with tree fern stems but some areas require a bit of agility to get over a small stream with stepping stones and using natural rocks to ascend or descend with the topography. You will be rewarded with a small freshwater pool and waterfall you can cool off in if you decide to take the plunge!Nothing spectacular but an excellent excuse to take a break and stretch your legs."

The size of the waterfall is impressive given that this isn’t one of DOC’s offerings , but the track in is narrow and windy, and can be wet and slippery if you’re there when it’s rainy. Most of the track is made with little logs lined up (I took a photo), so at least it isn’t too muddy. Towards the end there’s a rock/boulder crossing before you reach the narrow ledge for viewing the waterfall. Make sure you wear shoes with good grip!

This waterfall is what i call a hidden gem. Beautiful walk through the bush/forest and a stunning waterfall. The parking lot is really small you might easily overlook it.

Such a beautiful walk to the falls. Well worth a visit. Approx 20 mins return or with children allow 30mins. It is slippery closer to the falls if it's been slightly raining so wear appropriate footwear. Enjoy this unknown treat on the scenic highway.

Beautiful, interesting walk and nice falls. Not well signposted from the road so easy to drive past. Not as busy/popular as the other falls in the Catlins. The walk is a little more intrepid (take care underfoot, over rocks and roots) which makes it interesting and enjoyable.

Superb waterfall - hard to choose between this and McLean falls as my favourite! A varied walk through rainforest to the falls that the kids especially loved. Absolutely worth the stop!
