Excellent place to have fun and a drink and play bowls

Great hospitality and service. The staff are volunteers committed to supporting their club and had been working 12 hour days for weeks before our event. Regardless their welcome was just as genuine and friendly.

All I can say is don't knock Outdoor Bowling until you tried it. Outdoor bowling is a lot of fun for all ages (even in Winter), especially if you have access to an all weather green and an nice warm bar for a few drinks and hot snacks afterwards, like at the Ponsonby Bowling Club.I strongly recommend that you grab a couple of friends, roll up to the Ponsonby Bowling club and enquiry about have a casual / social game. It only cost $20 per person to bowl for as long as you wanted on the day. They provide all the gear (except shoes) and even gave you a quick lesson.After about 3-4 hrs bowling, (in between a few wines & couple of bowls of chips), we decided to call it a day, and have never regretted it. We have been back several time since, as we were given a 12 months casual membership card, which gives us to access to the clubrooms and lets us play bowls for $15 per person.
