Chertsey Book Barn
This was a little surprise on the way to Dunedin from Christchurch! Spontaneously recommended by a friend I quickly stopped here and found so many books and movies I wanted to get! I managed to grab 3 (2 books + 1 dvd) for $5!!! Ladies were so lovely they gave me some cookies too : ) definitely would go back when I'm going back to Chirstchurch

Fabulous range of books. Don’t buy my books anywhere else. Such good finds. Cheap as chips too. Good to support a local book store. Love the cats, they are very friendly just like the owners.

Absolutely love the book barn. So many books and all well set out in author order.The barn is cold and dusty on a winters day, but the people at the counter are always cheerful, which is a big credit to any establishment. Not to forget the friendly cat who strolls about like a boss.A must go to place to get good condition second hand books.Thanks everyone involved in making the book barn work so well

I love this place! Always so exciting and so much to choose from! The only thing is the alphabetical order is a bit all over the place and quite confusing. But otherwise, I could spend all day in there!

You gotta love this place. It has a massive collection of books, puzzles, DVDs. Every genre you can imagine. It’s rough and ready however that just adds to the charm. It does feel about 5 degrees colder inside the shed than outside so in the cooler months wear warm clothing. The cat is pretty cool too.

Doesn't look much from the highway but if you like books, this place is a good option. Depends on your gene of book but they have a good selection, in Letter order or by Gene.And if you like cats, there is a friendly in store cat that will make a fuss of you as well.

Absolutely love stopping by this place when i have a chance, saying there is alot of books is an understatement as the books have taken over the whole place aha The staff are super friendly and their prices are great on things. You can find books about anything here. It can be a little hard finding some books but most of them are in the correct places. I highly reccomend stopping here if you like books/magazines/puzzles/dvds/games as they have them all
