Mainfreight Limited - Transport

This company is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. They received 4 boxes of personal items from the Auckland depot and they suddenly then vanished. They alleged they searched their depot and couldn’t find them. Once Auckland traced the arrival of the 4 boxes by video footage, all they cared about was internal politics that I had been told and they hadn’t. At no point was I given any kind of apology or any indication they would recheck and deliver asap. I was promised a return call that never came. I still do not have my items 9 days after they were picked up in Auckland. Something very fishy going on here!

Gave me a delivery time slot. I asked to call 30 minutes prior to then - obviously so I could confirm and get to my house (I work full time). Arrived outside of the time slot even mentioned. Instead of getting me to rearrange delivery they decided to leave a heavy and very expensive piece of gym equipment in the middle of my driveway. My item was also broken. When I called them and stated how unimpressed I was, they had the audacity to blame me. Extremely unimpressed

I couldn't thank Mainfreight Napier enough for doing an outstanding service for my parcel. The Manager replied promptly on my queries on the whereabouts of my item as well as the customer service and the owner's son personally delivered my ordered wheels to my place using their own UTE since their cargo truck is too big to fit in my place. I am very grateful indeed! and despite all the negative comments here, I hope I can give justice to them on how well they treat me as a valued customer and carefully delivered my items.

After reading some of these horror stories I was extremely concerned about my expensive Martin guitar. My impression is that they're not as fast as a regular courier service for one off door to door deliveries. I believe they are mostly used by commercial customers.I didn't want to leave anything to chance so I drove to the depot and picked it up otherwise it might have stayed there over the weekend or longer.When I showed up at the reception, the lady there was helpful and friendly. She quickly found someone to locate my package who brought it to me on the forklift. Somehow after reading all of these bad reviews I was fully expecting a half squashed box with forklift puncture holes and a broken guitar inside. But the reality is that they took all due care of my package and even stuck bright orange top stow" stickers all over the box so that it wouldn't have anything stacked on top of it. There was not a scratch on the box or the contents

Possibly New Zealands worst freight company. They delivered the first order damaged, the second one to replace the first they have lost half of it and refuse to respond to the sender or myself, yet to recieve a response despite calls and emails from both company who sent and me as recipient. Been over 2 weeks apparently sitting at the delivery depot. Totally incompetent, do yourself a favour and conpletely avoid them.

Shame we cannot give a 0-star rating, as that is all that Mainfreight deserve.IF they answer the phone, usually it rings for over 5 mins with no response.Abysmal is the best description I can give. 1 day for freight to come from New Plymouth to Napier, then 13 more days from their depot to Onekawa Industrial, 2.9km away. They don't care and give the standard We've experienced a huge increase in freight lately" response.It would be less hassle and faster for me to collect items from the suppliers.AVOID AT ALL COSTS."

I would not recommend using Mainfreight to courier fragile goods. I collected a few suitcases with fragile items from them and found out that my shipment had been split in two and that one suitcase was in Napier and another two in Hastings. After driving to the separate branches to collect all the suitcases in my shipment, I found the suitcases to be damaged. If you want your valuable items to be delivered safely definitely stay away from Mainfreight.

Disorganised and rough outfit. We had a $30k custom machine shipped from Hamilton supplier. Thing turned up dented stainless steel arms smashed off. Took months to design and build only for a low paid and probably over work forklift driver to demolish it in minutes. We use to do business with these guys and occasionally we receive international freight which always end up lost broken or split up in multiple shipments where things like this happen. Just usless

Probably some of the worst customer service ever! All we wanted was our package that had been sitting in the Napier depot for days. If your lucky enough to have your call answered, dont expect to have someone actually help you instead you will probably be hung up on for no reason at all! When we talked to the sender he assured us that it was on a pallet and wrapped...when it arrived it was unwrapped and not on a pallet! It seems that after 3 years of negative reviews nothing is changing with this company! BEWARE!

Terrible service, and has been like this for a few years now. Many of our suppliers and ourselves no longer use them due to the poor service. Our local branch manager has known they have been short staffed for a few years now and chose to do nothing about it. I have had a simple single pallet delivery sitting in their depot since 15th February and its now 1st march and still no show . Napier Branch manager needs the sack.
