Botany Palms Motel
Stayed in Jan - last minute booking online for 2 x units with 3 double beds in each (total of 6 beds).Arrived to being told the online info was wrong, it should have said 2 double beds not 3 per unit. (Total of 4 beds - missing 2 beds)They said we had to pay for another room in order to get the 2 extra beds we originally booked. We said no that’s what was advertised online, so after hesitation they gave the extra room for free.Rooms were nice however poor cleaning done - rubbish under beds, chairs and drawers. One room smelt like wet dog / toe jams. Had to go reception to borrow cleaning products then went Kmart to buy a nice smelling diffuser. The kitchenettes were missing little essentials like sharp knifes. Felt like owners are trying to cut down on costs.Great location - 5 min drive down the road is Kmart, Timezone, Supermarkets, Takeaways. 10mins to beach. 10 mins to Rainbows End.Amio the Manager / Reception was the highlight of our stay. Lovely chatty lady! Genuine and helpful who went above and beyond for us and treated us like her whānau! We knew another group needing last minute accom and Amio swiftly organised that for us. One morning there was no housekeeping staff so we ended up helping Amio clean rooms so she could get away to her family lunch on time.Overall was a safe hotel, probably wouldn’t stay again, but if we did, would be because of location and Amio’s awesome service!

I stayed in room 12 for 3 nights.PJ and Amil are wonderful hosts. So approachable, love to have a yarn. The rooms are super clean.Ambience is awesome. Each room even has a jacuzzi (which I didn't have time to use)The location is perfect! walking distance from the shopping centre, and multiple cafes. 20mins from the airport, 20 mins from Auckland cbdThe motel felt safe. And they will attend to pretty much any hours of the day or night.Thankyou again for the wonderful experience.

Stayed here for a week while visiting family and friends. The room was clean and tidy. Even warm during Auckland's winter. Decent sized bathroom and how nice it was to have a kitchenette including a stove top.Staff are lovely and friendly. So close to all areas south east and a 5min drive to the shopping centre.I will def look at booking again next time I come home.

Very nice place to stay at. Was welcomed very warmly by the owner. We had a chat for around 15 minutes. The owner is very down to earth and shared his experience as I was a new comer.

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights, overall okay experience.Pros:1. Easy to get to. Rather than following google maps and how it takes you to the lights, then you turn left on the highway (Te Irirangi Drive) to then turn into the motel, there is a quiet back street (Kellaway Drive) just after the bus stop on Smales Road, that loops around to the motel where you can enter on the side.2. Lovely service3. Spacious room4. Regular TV channels, Prime Video, Youtube and Netflix5. Comfy bed6. Good pressure shower7. Lovely spa bath8. Good amount of parking that is unallocated, so park where you wishCons:1. Frosted glass door, as the main door to the room. We tested and you couldnt see much looking in from the outside of the room, but just knowing the main door wasnt a solid wood like door. The fact it was like that frosted bathroom glass window kind of door made me feel uneasy.2. Because the door was frosted and there was no curtain, meant the outside light shone through the room. If you are in need of a night light then this is fantastic. However i prefer a dark room where little to no light shines through.3. Tiled bathroom meant the floors were freezing. Definitely bring slippers to use when you need to use the toilet, socks dont cut it.4. Mould on the curtain5. Small blood (period) stain on the duvet inner6. $5 extra per day/night, if you want your room to be serviced7. One bedside light not working

Very reasonably priced and very friendly staff, rooms are clean and neat with everything you would want. Rooms are warm and dry and the bed is very comfy. My partner loved the spa as she's missed having relaxing baths. It's very close by to a lot of nice restaurants and entertainment. We will definitely be making this our go to when we visit family and friends in Auckland.

Recently stay at the Botney palms motel for a week on business. Room cleanliness was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I did find it to be a very noisy location as it’s located on the main road and doesn’t have double glazing. Also the curtains aren’t block out so street lighting makes the room very bright at night. So didn’t have the best sleep.

We had a dbl bed unit for 1 night...no electric blanket on the bed but had a new mink one in closet which we used as well as the one we brought with us and it was a cold night..only 1 washcloth for 2 of us..no plug for kitchen sink..shower tiles very dangerously slippery when wet and had to put the bath mat inside shower to stand on, definitely a Health and Safety issue..signage on Smale Rd very inadequate and took some time to actually find motel..we should have been advised to stay on Te Irirangi Dr.. Staff were friendly!

My stay at this motel was so great. Amio the manager, was the most kind and caring person ever. Our flight was cancelled due to the floods in Auckland and Amio helped us rebook for an extra 4 nights. She was so helpful and I absolutely loved my stay at the motel. It’s close to the shopping centre and the rooms come with all the necessities you need. I would 100% recommend this motel if your in the botany area.
