Bushy Park
Bushy Park c. 21 kms north of Wanganui on SH 3. About 6 kms inland. A park and homestead. Beautiful native Bush and wetlands. Plus an historic homestead from the early 1900’s. Home to “ Ratanui” one of the largest rata trees in NZ. Being a predator free sanctuary, it has some amazing bird life. The saddlebacks with their orange markings were prominent. Some impressive walking tracks. Managed by a Trust along with Forest & Bird Society. The historic homestead and out buildings are in a beautifully maintained in near original condition.
