Book Tekapo Holiday Homes

We stayed at their quiraing lake view lodge on Jan 20. Unfortunately, there were bed bugs during our stay. It was a terrible experience to wake up from bug bites and stay up all night just to witness bugs crawling all over the bed. Hope the house is improved now after we showed all the bugs we caught to the office. Other than that, the lodge has great view and it has basic stuff you need to have a comfortable stay.

Very disappointed from the beginning. Did not respond to email the day prior to check in. Arrived at the house to find driveway blocked off and no access to garage which we were not told about. Then the following day we had builders turn up on site at 8am to build a woodshed. Again we had no idea and the builders thought the house was empty. Very disruptive when you have a young baby. Then to top it off we had no hot water for half a day.We did receive a 20% discount but that does not compensate the hassles we had.Would definitely not use again and would not recommend.

I booked an Airbnb through Book Tekapo in November 2019 and would not book anything through them again based on my experience. Below is my feedback to the company on the Airbnb I stayed in.It seems as if no one has taken time to consider the set up of the space for guests staying in the room. There is no mirror, no place to hang any clothes, there is no place to plug in the pot for hot water and nothing to make coffee with, these are all basic accommodation expectations. An extension cord to actually plug in both the toaster and hot water pot is needed. A French press, or some other way to make coffee should be provided.In addition, the pillows are too thin, there are no handles to open the drawers to the cupboards, and the ‘kitchenware’ should simply be stated that there are forks, spoons, knives, plates, bowls, and coffee mugs. Basic cups to drink water with should be provided. Fortunately, I brought my own soap, shampoo, and towels, otherwise enough was not provided. A washcloth for your face needs to be provided. The shower curtain is not wide enough, or long enough and water goes everywhere in the bathroom floor when taking a shower, which is dangerous for slipping. A bigger shower curtain, and squeegee to clean up water after showers is needed.This Airbnb listing should be transparent that it is run by a company and not a host family. With that said if a company is managing an Airbnb booking it should know what type of expectations are reasonable for a guest and what to mention in the listing.Again, I realize for the price the room would be basic accommodations, but it does not seem that Book Tekapo has considered what a guest expects when staying at an Airbnb and what is described in the listing.I have done nothing wrong, so to message me and say the company is prepared to retaliate with comments back on my page is disappointing. It seem apparent that Book Tekapo is not interested in the guest experience, but in the transaction of filling rooms.

I really recommend this company. All the way through they were friendly and flexible. We had the best view from the house we rented and we enjoyed our stay at Lake Tekapo very much

This listing was not the one we booked months earlier. We were escorted to the property and were not told the original was not available until we pulled into the driveway. I thought it was weird that it was not self check in. The woman showing us the listing said we have nothing else available. When I stated this is not what we booked she said this is what we have. I contacted Airbnb and started documenting the poor unfinished conditions. The woman showing the house tried to push me out of the way so I wouldn’t take a picture of the room full of junk. DO NOT STAY WITH THIS COMPANY. There was construction trash all outside of the house, refrigerator was not on, washer has no water running to it, and lots of amenities missing. We would have stayed if it was ready but it wasn’t ready for guests. I found other accommodations through Airbnb from a local family that was similarly priced and the accommodations are well thought out and comfortable. I have repeatedly posted pictures of the poor state the home was in at check-in but they keep getting deleted. I can only assume this is being done by the company.

Very disappointed in our experience. We booked a place based on the outdated pictures, turned up to a building site with none of the views, privacy or quiet lakeside atmosphere promised. We were then moved to another location which was equally disappointing and not like the pictures again. It was also dirty, and had a shared laundry INSIDE our apartment. We asked for a refund, and had it approved from the manager but are still waiting.

New modern unit. Warm and cozy with modern kitchenette facilities. Parking at the doorstep. Nice view from the deck when looking to East side that is right side. We stayed at unit 2 of Skyrim Riverside Lodge.

Booked a holiday home on October 23rd 2019 for December 30th 2019 for 3 nights for new years, 2 of our friends flew from Australia for this holiday, another drove from the west coast, we brought fishing gear and fishing licences, and 3 days worth of food for 6 people for this holiday. I woke up on the morning of the 30th, the day were meant to be checking in, to an email, telling us we can't have the house anymore because the owner was been overwhelmed with hosting .... and turns out the owner is actually on site living upstairs... it says no where about the owner being in the house, we wouldn't have booked it anyway if we knew this, complete false advertising!!! Shocking! And a complete rip off. So anyway we find out on the day of check in, we don't have accomdation in Lake Tekapo anymore, a holiday we had booked and planned for 2 months... we get given the option of another house that doesnt have views and is $100 cheaper, or a house that's still in buliding construction and had buliding supplies over the lawn, so no yard, and also no cooking allowed and doesn't really have anything in the house... for the same price.. we had a think about it no one was happy with ethier option and they couldn't show us photos, so we could be driving there from Christchurch and then not want it. Tried ringing and ringing the lady and the office no anwser for hours, then they were meant to be sending photos never did... so we changed our plans, then they rang at about 3pm asking if we were getting one of the other houses... they still hadn't sent photos, as we had asked. So unprofessional, so thanks Book Tekapo for ruining our new years holiday and wasting our money and time. Still can't believe it!

This agency canceled our booking on arrival and told us they were giving us an upgrade". This has never happened before in my life and they said it was the owner who needed to use the home which was a different excuse from the initial reason. Do not book with this agency."
