Otaki Beach
Part of the magnificent Kapiti Coast, Otaki Beach gives an unrestricted view of the sea and a different view of Kapiti Island than the one I am used to from Raumati Beach. Kapiti's dark brooding flank is reduced to reveal the island's narrower profile. Today the tide was in and the wind was blustery so the waves were impressive and wild. Apart from a few stalwarts, most of the resident seagulls were sheltering in the carpark, out of the worst of the wind and enjoying the sun. The sun on the moving water, the sea and the wind. A magic place!

Quiet and nice. They have public toilet and bathroom. It is free.Sunrise or sunset is very spectacular.

Otaki Beach
We love this beach as a family, the water is gorgeous in the summer, great for dog walking all year round, great selection of shells, driftwood, beautiful sand. The views of kapiti island are fantastic. Swim between the flags near the otaki surf club during summer as life guards on duty. Take your boogie board for great waves!

Otaki Beach
We went to Otaki for the Summer Festival and we fell in love with the place. The beach is beautiful, soft sand, clear water. The suburb is amazing. The one-hour drive ys totally worth it!
