Mohua Park - Catlins Eco Accommodation

Unbelievable views! A very peaceful stay. Can’t wait to visit again!

Beautifully appointed cottage in a stunning settingWe stayed at Mohua Park for 2 nights and loved it. It was so peaceful (no tv:)! and has all the comforts you need. The private setting was stunning - loved the new-born lambs in the paddock in front too. Did some exploring of the Catlins (plenty to do - would be easy to spend a week here). Highly recommended! We'll be back!

With so many rave reviews we'd had high hopes for this place. This property/ business was up for sale at the time of our stay.The drive into the property was beautiful. The cabin we ended up with was nice overall, albeit dated with some efforts to modernise it. It needs some light maintenance and a decent clean. Also, the wee seat and table set back from the cabin should be replaced or just removed.While I appreciate great views and serenity, for a few hundred bucks a night this place was well below the expected standard.I hope that the standards are raised and the cabins are thoroughly checked for fixtures, fittings and cleanliness between future bookings.

My husband and I are of that age where when we travel we are looking for luxury and intimate experiences (aka VIP) and we found it all here. The cottage was lovely and contained everything we needed. The property is extensive and has wonderful bush walks and amazing bird life. It was peaceful and private. Water pressure is a bit on the low side, but the beds are super comfy so that's a good trade off. We went on two of the tours offered and they were both excellent. Lyndon was a great guide full of local knowledge with a good sense of humor -and happy to go at our pace. We also enjoyed the antipasto platter on the night we arrived and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and amount (it lasted us for days). The location was a perfect spot to act as our base for exploring the Catlins area over the 5 days we had as it is basically int he middle of it all. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous, private cabins. Everything you need for a tranquil stay in the Catlins. The views are epic and the hosts, Tracy and Mike are really lovely people. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them about the area and walking around the property. If you're visiting the Catlins, this is a fab place to stay.

Beautiful views, quiet, relaxing, the platter was amazing!!!!Breakfast was brilliant. Weather was hot but it was so relaxing!!!Thanks to Tracy and Mike. Hope to be back!!!

Highly recommend this place. The views from the cabins are second to none! Tracy was a great host with a warm welcome on arrival. Wish we could have stayed for more than one night!!

Such a beautiful outlook, so peaceful. The room was immaculate. We did the ATV tour late in the afternoon and were treated to lovely farm and coastal vistas and some great banter with Lyndon.Thoroughly reccommend staying here, hosts Gill and Lyndon are so very welcoming, you feel like you're staying with friends. 5 star +

Has the unique balance of a great welcome, and secluded privacy.The chalets are spacious and comfortable and have a homely feel you don't want to leave.Views and settings are awesome, along with your hosts. The best location to explore this area of NZ, with a very experienced and humorous guide.It has a great untouched feel, in a magical part of the Catlins. It is in the middle of nowhere, which gives you the opportunity to rest, relax and recharge.Definitely home from home, and will be back soon.
