What a great find. We opted to get 4 of the small plates (the recommended portion for 2 people) and they did not disappoint. We had the baked camembert, gorgonzola gnocchi, Mac n cheese and the goats cheese & chorizo, with a dulche de leche cheese cake.

What a unique experience!We went to cheese bar after hearing glowing reviews from friends and it didn't disappoint! The style of food is not found in any other restaurants in chch. The quality of ingredients was fantastic and the atmosphere light hearted and fun.They had recently added a cocktail menu which our group really enjoyed. We asked for an alcohol free one and they made a special version for us.I've seen other reviews saying that it's expensive but I don't understand where they're normally eating. If anything, the prices here seemed a little less than other restaurants of the same quality.

Absolutely amazing place. I love cheese, and the flavours for everything was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. The prices are amazing for the things you get. The staff were so so friendly and accommodating. They made sure our night was going amazing. Thank you cheese bar, can’t wait to come back!!!!

So going in, I had quite low expectations, as a vegan going to a place with cheese in the name is a little unusual.Our servers were super friendly, very helpful when I asked about vegan options and attentive when it came to clearing empty dishes and refilling drinks.Place was pretty busy and the music was pumping, adding to the cool atmosphere.The vegan option was a little basic, but still very tasty! I feel very fortunate that the staff were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions.

Hi, I'm Sheena and I'm a cheese addict - and I was not disappointed! The food had so much flavour, the portions sizes were perfect & very filling and the atmosphere was warm & lively! Thanks for the great meal & excellent service. We will be back on our next visit to Christchurch.

Shambolic. Arrived to be told my booking hadn't been noted but was offered another table, which was fine. Unfortunately half way through our meal we were asked to shift tables (just as our food had arrived). The staff seemed stressed and in chaos. Our drink orders were not correct, had to ask multiple times for things like cutlery, sugar etc. Some staff seemed to struggle a bit understanding kiwi accent. I understand this restaurant has only been open a few weeks but I think it was still not really ok. Also the music was so loud (and really bad cover songs) we had to shout above it to be heardOur food experience was mixed. Entrees were well presented, but nothing out of the ordinary. We all had the pasta main which was dry and bland. Cream brulee for dessert had a lovely texture but lacked flavour. The cheesecake was average. We had a petite cheeseboard, cost $25 and only had two small pieces of cheese and one of medium size, all of which I felt were supermarket standard.Overall really disappointing. The staff were friendly though and probably doing the best they could under stressful conditions. May return at a later date to see if it's improved.

A unique idea for a restaurant and I can’t believe it hasn’t been done before! The baked Brie was delicious, so good with the honey and nuts that it comes with. The blue cheese and pear salad was an absolute highlight, so fresh and tasty with a lovely dressing. The double cooked potatoes were amazing and came with plenty of prosciutto, salamis and ham as well as the pickles and cheese. Generous servings. Really friendly service. Good value. It’s a little unassuming from the outside but it was a cosy and relaxed atmosphere inside.

Bit of a cheesey experience but a good one. Soooo much cheese and tasty food. There was a little bit of a wait for food as they were short staffed, which was fine with us as we were a big group. I would not recommend eating cheese late in the evening as it didn't sit well with a few of us. Will definitely go again but earlier.Creme cheese brulee was sooooo good. It is a small area so would book if you are a large group.
