I had a facial from trainee Kasey, with Pam's guidance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all very friendly, also a beautiful set up too. Highly recommend V for hair and beauty!!!!

Hair done OK but customer service is to REGRET coming here again, NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY based on my +10 years customer service job roles. I have never done a Google review, but I am truly disappointed with today’s service. You would be wondering why I chose visiting and stayed here? Because I wanted my hair smoothing done ASAP and the only available place in Christchurch was this. All started with my booking call. When I asked twice regarding the available times to get an appointment as I could not hear well, the Stylist Director said me “I already told you”, in a sarcastic tone which is disrespectful to challenge a customer with.On my appointment, I was looked after by the friendly beauty therapist in reception who did my washing and divided my hair to be straightened. I would suggest for her to explain since the start how a visit is planned as I was lost whether she or the Stylist Director will be doing my hair, or what are the treatment's steps, etc. She even gave me the new customer form/informed consent (to state if I have any product allergy for instance) AFTER adding products in my hair, which I found pointless.During the hair treatment, the Stylist Director showed off his technical skills. However, he opted to have multiple interruptions: facing customers in reception or going away to talk about concerns with other staff or customers, which is unprofessional as you do not get the feeling he is focusing on what he is doing on you. He would have mentioned: “Sorry, I will be right back”, simply things to apologies at any point. Also, he asked me how long I have been in NZ and then he said “Your English is good”. Again, might being careful with those statements as I did not ask to be rated with my English skills and would suggest to make sure someone is always in reception so the client on the chair is not affected and feels well looked after. He also tried to sell me the aftercare products which was the longest conversation I had with him. I would suggest in order to engage or get the willingness of your customers for further investment, have those conversations to connect since the start, not when you are looking to generate more sales.Further, the owner gave some USB instructions to one of the male staff (who was blowing dry my hair) and finished saying “don’t ask me again” in a tone like he was incompetent. I would recommend if there are internal training/arrangements to sort out, do it without facing the customers. It is very uncomfortable to hear that staff tension when all you look for in a beauty salon is a relaxed experience. Also, cleanliness here is careless as the black trolleys surfaces where the hair tools are kept and also the black shoulder covers (which are placed on top of the black gown) had rest of hair products, the tea towels to clean your hands (on the tea trays) had pinkish/oranges stains, for instance. The Stylist Director told me the price for the hair smoothing was FROM $199. Then, he mentioned if he considers that the hair is thicker or with any complexity to add more product, he would charge $40 or $50 more on top of the $199 as maximum. When he was going to start the application of the product, he told me that my hair is healthy and ok, so he “won’t be charging more than $250”. At the end, they asked me to pay $250. This last did not make sense AT ALL. I did not say anything at the counter as I was deeply upset and just wanted to leave. Not happy and well below my expectations. Sad by giving this review. But with my experience, this is an opportunity for V for Hair and Beauty to raise its standards of customer care.

Came in today. Barely had a consultation it was just what colour do you want so I showed 2 people and that was fine. Didnt have any conversation with the stylist untill THE COLOUR WAS BEING WASHED OUT. The other 2 male stylists were sitting there talking about clients which is very unprofessional when it’s up front of other clients. The receptionist lady with Light pink hair was super rude. I asked if there would be any extra cost or anything because of previous experiences with other salons And explained I was confused as normally cost would be stated during consultation and she very hosTiley said why are you confused and treated me like rubbish. They don’t clean their work spaces there was hair on the floor that wasn’t from clients that were already in the salon, and also hair on the bench in front of me under the mirror so it’s clear they don’t clean their spaces. Also noticed on Facebook the “spend $129 and recieve a $30 pure Fiji gift free” so asked if I qualify as I spent more then that and she said no why would you... I’m VERY disappointed with the service I recieved today and it has actually ruined my day. Going to get your hair done should be exciting but this place made me feel horrible the whole environment and attitude of some of the staff (paticurly the lady on reception with the pink hair) was DISGUSTING. employ people who actually want to have clients not people who are rude and push clients away.

Arrived to find that they had in fact not saved an appointment for me, despite having written confirmation of that appointment, which I showed them. They said, sorry, nothing we can do about it

Booking was easy and straight forward. Unfortunately the beauty therapist was 40 minutes late. The manager did try to remedy the situation by extending the life of my voucher for 6 more months and giving me 50% off my services for that day. However it should be noted that due to the time of my booking in the early bird special (50% off between 8-10am) I was already getting the discount so this was not very relevant.Once I was eventually seen, the therapist was very professional and did a great job of threading and tinting my eyebrows. Her attention to detail in the manicure was also very impressive.

Extremely dissatisfying results. Does not want to listen to customers' problems. Hair straightening was done literally bad, and second day hairs were seen curly. The manager went to her room and didn't want to talk at all. Spent $400, and they don't want to listen at all.

Keep in mind while reading these reviews that the 5 star feedback as posted by Beverley K, Lucia, Natalia, and others may be bias. As they are employees. As for my own experience in 2016 - it would be great if this salon was more upfront on their pricing. I booked in for a ladies cut & ruffle dry with a regular stylist. The website stated $45 for this. When I arrive it's now $85. I get that the prices are from" as it was pointed out to me in a completely different part of the page but that's almost double. I asked why it wasn't $45 (with long straight hair that I wanted a couple of inches off the bottom

I got a few alerts to please leave a review after the appointment I had, so here it is - 100% waste of $300 dollars. Having had keratin treatments for the last 4+ years and loving them this was the first time I tried V For Hair and it did absolutely nothing. I paid a deposit before the appointment and ended up getting charged the rest of what I was quoted + + + for more product which I was not consulted on what the extra price would be... I walked out having paid $100 more than quoted for a keratin treatment that did nothing. Terrible.
