Sue has been absolutely incredible with alterations to my wedding dress. I took it to her with short notice (under three months) with tricky cap sleeve adjustments that she has done for me so perfectly. On top of that she has put in a bustle, taken in the waist and shortened delicate lace. Her care and attention to detail is second to none and she is always so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend Sue!

I chose Sue’s Alterations for my wedding dress and I could not of had any better fit on my wedding day. They made you feel like you were their only client and that your dress was the most lovely dress in the world. They wouldn’t rush you when you just wanted to check out your dress. The alterations were just fantastic and were even hand sewn at some points of my dress! This had to take loads of time and effort and I just appreciate it so much! Highly highly recommend!

I used Sue’s repairs for my wedding dress alterations and I cannot say enough wonderful things! The alternations were at times complicated but they did such a fantastic job. They listened to what I was after and also made suggestions, which were always spot on. They helped make the dress fit me perfectly within a tight timeframe and they were always so friendly and lovely. Thank you so much Prida and Tamara, you really did an amazing job and helped me to have the dress of my dreams on my wedding day!

Hi there,I just wanted to let someone know about my experience in the Willis Street Sue's Alterations store for my bridal alterations.I went for my original fitting and was happy at the time with what had been decided to be done to the dress. It wasn't much, just the dress to be taken up, cups to be inserted and a 1 point bustle to be sewn on and sleeves taken up. I had been told that this was the best bridal alterations service in Wellington so I was happy to pay the $530 even though this felt expensive.On my second fitting to pick up the dress, the eye fell off when we did up the dress. Corina advised me that this would be put back on and reinforced. The rest was fine but the 1 point bustle was put in completely the wrong place and it was not where we discussed. Corina told me that her apprentice seamstress had made a mistake and that it would be fixed immediately and they would be in contact once it was fixed.This was in Feb of 2022 and luckily my wedding had been postponed until Nov 2022 because I heard nothing from anyone for months so I took matters into my own hands in July and asked if my dress was ready. It had apparently been ready for months and they were sorry I hadn't been contacted.I then went on to make a booking to pick up my completed dress in August (today) and expected everything to be done. Especially because I had waited so long and they made a mistake the first time around. The hook and eye were not reinforced when I tried it on and the eye was completely missing, the girl there said (once you take it off I will sew the eye back on, it will take 2 mins).I then saw that I had been charged twice for 1 point bustle to be applied, and when asked about this cost I was told that it was for the hook and eye and the sleeve ribbon to be moved. $69 seems a bit extreme for something that was literally forgotten about and then done right in front of me on collection.I am amazed that no apology was given for the initial mistake, that I was made to wait for months to hear back about my dress and never did, and paid expensive alteration prices for what I was thinking to be good service and never received that the entire time. At best, a discount should have been applied to the overall cost because of how poorly they did things.Please review the treatment of your customers in the willis street branch. I am hoping that this is not the standard you have set for bridal alterations. I will be telling everyone I know not to go here unless some kind of compensation or apology is given.Regards,Casey

I’ve been to Sues a few times now and interacted with different people each time. Without fail, they have always been kind, attentive, informative without condescension and priced fairly. I’ll be continuing to come here and letting my friends and whanau know. Thanks
