My family literally grew up with Tisco over the years. Whenever there was a problem, our first call was to the Tisco man! I'm happy to say after thirty plus years

Took an amplifier in to be fixed and took a whole month to get back to me, unaware they were moving premises in the meantime, even went to pick up from old address not realising until i saw sign on the door saying so.Not best communication but i did get my amp back in good working order so happy about that at the end of the day :)

This place is an absolute effin joke. I was told I'll get answers within 3 days. It's now going on the 4th week. 4 weeks with no TV. I've tried calling them at least 5 times. Each time I waited for at least 10 minutes for someone to pick up. Each time I was told I'm next in line. 10 minutes later they transfer you to a voicemail. Which is an option that could've have been selected in the beginning If I didn't want or need to speak to an actual person. I've left 3 messages and have had no call backs. The place is a joke. Take your business elsewhere.

Very disappointed. One star is too good for this experience. My wife unplugged the power to her computer monitor and the socket which was attached to the internal circuit board came with it. So we took it to Tisco at 77 King St, Frankton, Hamilton for repair. Paid the $65 for assessment fees and on-site cost. After a wait period for the technician I showed him the problem where the part had detached. After a week with no word I rang them for an update. They said they’d get back to me, which they did the next day with bad news. They told me the circuit board was broken and they could order a new one at a cost of just over $130. I made the decision not to go ahead as new monitor is approximately $240 (uneconomic) So I got my wife to pick it up from them. Not being an electronics expert or anything I thought I’d take the back off it and have a look at the damage. Amazingly I found no crack in the circuit board like I was lead to believe, just the stubs where the power socket was attached. The part they needed to replace I’m sure would’ve cost very little and would just need to be soldered in. I noted the power from the cord was 14v dc at 25w (about as safe a changing torch batteries). So with that I thought I’d try fixing it myself. I soldered on 2 wires to the circuit board, then purchased a small dc plug & socket from Jaycar for $5.50 so my wife could still have the ability to disconnect the monitor. After some soldering practice it was fixed. To my delight the monitor worked perfectly! I went back to Tisco and politely asked some questions (without any emotion). I asked why they couldn’t fix it and if I could get a refund. There was a range of unconvincing excuses and that they couldn’t give a refund on the $65. Apparently they had to do research......really.......I gave them the opportunity to put things right, but I was met with BS. There is no reason why they couldn’t have done a simple fix within the price of the $65. Let’s face it, they could’ve fixed it in a few minutes and made approximately $45 profit and I would’ve been happy. But no, they wanted to screw a total of $195+ out of me for a simple 10 minute job. It seems like their main objective is to get as much money out of the customer as possible with a distant secondary objective of fixing the item. A little bit of honesty would’ve been appreciated. I went away with a feeling of being lied to and cheated. I will never go there again.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Our TV needed to be fixed. Called them on a Monday and was told someone would be out to pick it up that day. Didn't hear from them at all. Had to follow up again twice and finally the owner picked the TV up on Wednesday, with no prior indication around when he would be at the house to pick it up.No obvious turn around times given when I asked how long a price estimate would take...let alone how long fixing the issue would take. The TV was with them a week and I still hadn't received a call with their estimate. Turns out they had emailed the quote (they said I would receive a call!) and had also emailed it to the wrong email address even though my husband had spelt his email address out letter for letter over the phone.Had to then follow up twice more to get the quote resent even though the person I spoke on the phone with had the estimate in front of them - he said the person who originally emailed the quote had to resend it to me?? It's like if I hadn't asked for the estimate cost over the phone he wouldn't have told me LOL.$900 to fix the tv. Of course I wasn't going to proceed with the work, will happily take my business elsewhere. Especially after I'd paid $137 just for them to take the tv away for the week. Please improve your comms with customers and how you manage your workflow so that realistic expectations can be set when a customer initially enquires with you. Had I known how long you were going to take just to give an estimate, I would have gone elsewhere.
