Tapeka Point Track
We walked from the harbour area to the Tapeka Point Track. It was tricky at first because Google maps directed us along the road which didn't feel too safe. Once at the start of the track its actually a quick walk. Maybe 20min one way and we stopped to take pics. You start walking of a small field between houses, not on a path, but it is marked. Apparently it can get slippery after rain. The views are 360° and pretty awesome! On the way back we book Jim's path/track and followed the Russel signs which was clear. Read the signs as one route is only accessible during low tide.

Nice short walk (30 min return) to the view point. You see different parts of the coastline along the way. Parking at the trailhead is possible but limited.

Tapeka Point Track
Tapeka Track has some beautiful views over the Bay of Islands, to the clear blue sea, islands, rocky outcrops, boats and pods of dolphins if you are so lucky. The location is in the small village of Tapeka near Russell and some friendly locals gave us some good advice getting there. The track to the top is a little slippery and steep in some areas, but mostly it is very easy to follow and well trodden.

Peaceful clean beach to spend some quality time. Parking available. I recollect seeing one bench nearby but not many sitting options available so it's recommended to carry your beach chairs and umbrella. Toilets are not too well maintained.

Slightly hilly yet easy walk, around 30 minutes return. Quiet. Great 360-views.
