The Intrepid Hotel

Very Edwardian. Dark and mysterious. Perhaps a few too many stuffed animals? Excellent service and you can’t beat the location — slap-bang in the middle of Cuba Street. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed at. The rooms and common areas have the coolest vibes, dark and moody with soft lighting. Colour scheme is on point. Small touches like sparkling water, morning croissants and turn down service with a chocolate each evening makes this one of the best boutique hotels around. Highly recommend.

The best place to stay on a city holiday or get-away. Finley is a member of staff, he went above and beyond to help us with what we needed in the hotel and navigating the city. He and the other staff are fantastic. We will be back and I highly recommend.

The absolute best possible stay in the country. Amazing staff, amazing hotel bar, all details taken complete care of. Water pressure is the best. Plushy carpet, complete blackout curtains, fantastic beds. All products used are highest quality and the thoughtful details set it off perfectly. We’ll never stay anywhere else!

Absolute favorite! We LOVED our stay in Intrepid and all the unique touches they add to make your stay one of a kind. The location is EXCELLENT - we were a 2 - 5 mins walk from the best bars in Wellington. The Puffin downstairs is also a great, quirky one. The breakfast spots nearby were fantastic as well and it was lovely of the hotel to provide vouchers to nearby restaurants.The staff were also amazing in collaborating with our dear friend who sent us a very touching surprise for our honeymoon.A strange obsession with taxidermy is evident in every nook and cranny of The Intrepid (which isn't our cup of tea) but otherwise 10/10.

Absolutely adore this hotel and will always stay here when I visit Wellington. The location is superb, the rooms are modern and have a cool New York loft style vibe. The bed was so comfy and I slept deeply which rarely happens when I travel. The fact that it is dog friendly is everything! Missy was so welcome and she absolutely loved her stay too. The monogrammed doggie biscuits are such a sweet touch and the daily croissants and newspaper was simply divine for us human guests. The whole set up of this hotel is so modern and environmentally conscious and totally the future of hospitality. I can't wait to return!

This place is such Good Value for money! From the service, the sparkling water on tap, the little note on arrival gives such a personal touch plus the special surprise of the croissant and orange juice in the morning. Wow, it's the little things that make you feel like you are not a number but like a welcomed guest. Outstanding guys! We will be back!
