Hobbiton Movie Set

One word: MAGIC. This place is absolutely amazing. If you're a LOTR fan you'll enjoy every second of the tour. Piece of advice: always be the last of the group so that you can stay at every spot to take all the pics you want without hurrying to let someone else take theirs. The hobbit holes are so real, you can feel you're in the movie with Frodo walking by your side. We did the Hobbiton Beer Festival so after the tour we were taken to a huge tent behind the Green Dragon to have a fantastic German meal, free drinks flowing all night, and a German band playing awesome songs. Some people ended up pretty wasted. Totally worth every penny. Would definitely go again. Another piece of advice: watch LOTR 1 or The Hobbit 1/3 before going !

Highly recommended for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Movies Fans!Very interesting 1.45 hours guided tour at $89 per person, including a drink. I saw that there maybe options to get tickets from other platforms, which maybe cheaper than getting on site. The guide is professional and able to explain all the movies setting in Lord of the Ring and Hobbit. For those who are big fans of these movies, I would recommend you to visit this place, and set aside 2 hrs for the tour. The tour group is conducted every 10 mins.For those who drives, there is free parking at the venue.

Amazing, came on a really nice day.Good visit for fans of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.Must visit if in Auckland.My TripAdvisor review:Not just a fantastic day at Hobbiton, the trip there with Kiwi Fun Tours was great too!Group of 8 people, not crowded.On the way there we had a couple of lovely stops at lookout points, beagle cafe, and then into town at Matamata.We then got to the farm land where Hobbiton is and David from Kiwi Fun Tours got everything ready for us whilst we enjoyed the gift shop.Off to Hobbiton we went. 1 and a half hour guided tour, then half an hour at the Green Dragon Inn to enjoy a beer, cider or non-alcoholic drink which is included as part of the tour. Words can't describe the beauty so I will upload some photos.Me and my partner had a great day, enjoying the scenery.We were lucky, on the way there is was pouring, when we got there, not a cloud in the sky.We got lots of amazing photos.Thanks Kiwi Fun Tours!Definitely recommend and will see you in the near future.

This is an excellent experience for LOTR and the Hobbit fans . We visited on a overcast drisselly day, but was still amazing, great paths all the way. 2 years work to reconstruct the Shire, all for just 12 days of shooting, incredible, must see

It's a amazing place where you think you have a character in a movie.It’s so real and also so dreamy.I recommended that you watch the Lord of the Rings movie again before you set off and follow the guide to enter this magical world.

this place is a long drive from auckland city area.when you purchase a ticket, bus fare is inclusive. the bus will pick you up in the bus queue near the ticketing office and will send the entire group inside the compound.the set was small but the land is huge! I feel it was a bit over priced... the tour will only last less than an hr. and at the end of the tour there’s a small restaurant that serves free ginger ale and sells some cookies or beef pie.seeing the set feels very nostalgic... it was so cute! it brings back a lot of memories. so according to the guide the movie only shot a few scenes here and the rest was shot in the studio... which means most of the house are just fake structure and can’t go inside.All in all, it was still a good experience..

One of the best live sets in the world, such an amazing experience to see and in person, our tour ran a little bit late getting started but the guide was happy to compensate us with an extra free drink at the end of the tour in the Green Dragon Tavern. Just stunning, a truely magical experience. I would recommend this to any Lotr or Hobbit trilogy fan! A+++

What an amazing experience! It was great going on this tour. A bus takes you across the way to Hobbiton and it’s about an hour to walk through everything then you get 15 minutes at the Green Dragon Inn for a complimentary beer and then the bus takes you back to the gift shop/parking area. So worth it! They even did the tour video on the bus in a smart way where there are times where just music is playing so you can flip through watching the video and taking in the beautiful views.

What can I say! Simply amazing experience and one of the best days of my life! The staff are amazing and a special thanks to staff member Grace..a lovely, knowledgeable young lady who without her impeccable driving skills and due to my disability, my visit to Hobbiton would have been impossible! Forever thanks Grace! I will remember this day forever!!
