Fantastic location, warm in winter, comfy beds, Smart TV, nice fit out. The owners turned the heater on so it was warm on my arrival which I was grateful for.Highly recommend.

Stayed for just one night in our visit to Dunedin. A very cool and gothic city, and we felt integrated by staying in a heritage style building. The condo is cosy and has everything you need - showers and accessories, kettle and tea coffee, even milk in the mini fridge. We were well taken care of.

Beautifully and thoughtfully renovated room. Very clean, shower is a dream. Overhead and table side reading lamps a nice touch. Digital entry means no keys required.Rooms a little small but served the purpose - wardrobe and cupboards for clothes, however wouldn’t suggest for long stays as no break out area. Heaps of off street parking.Located centrally and 5 minute walk into shopping/eating areas but up a steep hill, so walking shoes a must!Kettle and toaster, starter milk, coffee, tea, shampoo, soaps all provided. Towels thick and lush.Did not realise the downstairs utility area was available for guests until I read these reviews! There is another house on the lot which looks like it might be a (rundown) hostel of some kind?

An excellent stay! The Stables is great value - it's cosy, modern, warm and dry (I stayed in November). It's a short walk/drive into the main streets of Dunedin - if you aren't keen on hills it could be a bit of a hike on the way home but if you have a car it's perfect. The hosts communicate incredibly well, are helpful and make you feel at home - Caryn, you were amazing!. Only thing I would improve is to add a small desk/chair and somewhere to hang a dress, but regardless I would stay here again in a heart beat :) thank you!

Nice & clean . Good heating essential and provided due to the exposed brick in the the room. The room was advertised as a 'queen' studio which in reality referred to the bed. No table & chairs in the small room for a workspace or to eat food. The shared kitchen facilities located downstairs didn't have a table but did have a couple of chairs.

Very decent stay. The rooms meet all the standards I would expect for sure. I have recently had a major surgery so was very difficult getting in and out of room 7. There was no photos that showed the amount of stairs I would have to climb which was a bit miss leading as only shown the main building when we booked online.

We have both traveled extensively all over the world, and this is one of the better places we've stayed. Beautiful building, nice warm room, very clean, quiet, and well maintained. Up a very steep hill, but only five minutes from town. We would definitely recommend The Stables to anyone looking for a quality retreat.

What a great little conversion! Really upmarket finishes that should stand up over time. Loved the totally electronic booking and access system. May throw some less digitally skilled visitors but help is at hand.
