Literally the worst experience ever. Moving into a new flat and first they sent our new wifi modem to the wrong house i. a completely different suburb. Then we waited over a week for them to send us another modem and called when we didn't receive one. Turns out they never sent it. Then they waited a further 3 days just to ship the modem. The modem finally arrives and it doesn't work. We get told by the call centre that we have a faulty wire and have to have a technician to come fix it. The technician comes and tells us that they have sent us a faulty modem. And that's where we are now. All while the call centre has been completely unapologetic and useless at helping move the problem along. They actually sound dumb over the phone like they don't even know what we are talking about or asking them. Absolutely ridiculous.

The dozens of 1 start reviews perfectly sum these guys up. Specially signed my parents up to pipped gas (that went relatively smoothly), then a few weeks later they brought their power over without request. This took another several weeks to have reversed. Now just waiting for power to be re-connected with the old provider.

Specifically I want to review contacts broadband offering. Unfortunately they miss a number of key pieces of information on their website and the sales and contact centre staff are not trained in the information either. Contact broadband is provided by a 3rd party and uses technology called “CGNAT” this effectively is not broadband as we know it but a shared connection with other contact broadband users sharing a common IP address. With this many streaming, media and VC platforms don’t work correctly as I experienced. I would recommend avoiding their broadband product unless you’re only planning on doing basic browsing which is all it’s good for (and that’s why it’s cheap!!). It’s also much slower than most other NZ provides and seperate to the poor quality service for us it was a nightmare and many headaches getting it.

The person I spoke with at the service desk when calling to transfer account ownership was polite, easy to understand and actioned all the changes I requested. Contrary to the majority of reviews I have had a great experience and no power/gas issues in over 2 years.Only con is the iOS app can be buggy, crashed 3 times when attempting to pay my bill.

Their online system and communication is absolutely a mess. Easy to set up but hard to move. And they said they would get in touch soon in their email. But they won't contact you. On the day you need electricity and broadband, you may or may not have them.And they don't have clear instructions for the low user and standard user when setting up. The system will normally default to standard user in a hidden dropdown list which is not cost efficient for many people.Fortunately, their custom service people are good and nice if you can get through. 4 star is solely for those nice and helpful custom service people.

Terrible, do not choose this company. I joined up for a bundle power with broadband. Chose a fibre plan. After 5 mths I still did not have fibre and there was zero communication from Contact - instead I had to phone their customer service each time on hold for 40mins or more to try and get through. Each time my requests and the information provided where not acted upon. Finally having run out of patience I reqested VDSL instead. They sent me an appointment email with the wrong address, I told them, they said it was actioned. Next email, my VDSL successfully installed...you guessed it, at the wrong address. On hold again for another 40 mins, I cancelled my contract with them. Asked them to make sure I wasn't billed for a broadband service I didnt received. Final bill arrives, you guessed it, I've been charged for broadband. Several emails later asking them to remove and resend bill Im receiving constant texts asking me to pay the outstanding bill and no response to my many emails. They are now threatening my credit rating. Atrocious

Contact, along with other power companies, is making massive profit, paying massive dividends to their shareholders, and keeping prices high for their customers. We need to tax Gentailers (Generator-retailers) like Contact on their excess profits and invest it in renewable energy - making energy cheaper for customers and creating a cleaner climate. Everyone in Aotearoa has the right to live in a safe climate, with a clean, resilient, and affordable power supply - especially during a climate crisis and a cost of living crisis.

Waste of time and good mood. Terrible service. It took them 2 weeks and multiple long calls just to 'fix' a wrong invoice, but the 'corrected' one charged me a month's internet fee in advance. They promised me internet wouldn't be charged on the next invoice, but it was still charged. Kept me on the phone for half an hour each time when the customer service people tried to talk to the invoicing people, like they were the only people who had jobs. Not worth it. Would have given no star but Google doesn't allow it.

would give the minus 2 if possible.website is not working, have spend 20 messages in chat, absolutely unprofessional and no interest to answer a simple question about what the prices of a plan are.worst customer service

Very pleasant customer service staff when you can get hold of them. Currently i have been on hold for 1.18 .
