Graham at Gillard Motors was absolutely fantastic to me when I recently broke down in the middle of the nowhere (with 2 upset toddlers in the car!). I was panicking and didn't know what to do. He arranged everything for me and was all set to come and rescue me when in the end I didn't need him to. (The electrics in my brand new car were faulty and were showing I had plenty of petrol when I'd actually run out of petrol! A kind passer by gave me petrol to get going again). A big thank you to Graham and his team for their willingness to help and speedy action. If I ever get into trouble again out their way then they will be the first people I call. Jodi

A fair bit unreliable and unprofessional.Dont bother with their rental car scam. Headlights weren't adjusted on their station wagon, making it a dangerous drive at night we were having to follow behind trucks, guy in the office couldn't be less concerned with the feedback we had to give brushed it off as if he wanted us to crash and die to claim insurance. They require a $1500 deposit but at the time of return could only refund $1000 because of limits on their refund card??? Not my problem. Also fail WOF's to get you to fork out. Do trust this blokes the just want your money. On the positive side we had a great family outing despite their involvement.

I blew out a tyre while driving between a wedding ceremony and reception (with no spare, only a mostly useless tyre repair kit) and the AA sent out Gillard Motors to attend. They weren't able to source a tyre immediately as it was the weekend, but they fixed me up quickly the following Monday for a reasonable price. Communication was great and I was given multiple options before proceeding. They even drove me out to the reception on the day, which I really appreciated.There are multiple older negative reviews here but my experience with Gillard Motors was wholly positive.

We had battery issues on day 1 of our road trip. Although the team didn't have the right battery in stock, they offered to fet a next day delivery or put another battery on to get is through the road trip. Awesome service.

Had an unfortunate accident north of Taumarunui after hours.They provided after hours service, Graham went out of his way to offer assistance.I was very impressed with the client care and fantastic service provided from tow truck driver, admin staff and owner all of whom were professional.Highly recommend.Huge Thank you.

Not impressed with being charged an extra $50 on top of the recovery tow fee to get a stolen vehicle loaded onto a truck with their forklift, come on guys what has happened to good old small town service?

I am 72 and have had a lot of experiences dealing with garages and similair establishments. Gillard Motors are by far the most impressive and efficient my wife and I have ever come across. Our car is covered by a mechanical warranty and developed some serious problems. The owner Graham Gillard diagnosed what was needed and straightaway offered to talk to the insurers and sort everything with them, which he did. While it was being repaired our other vehicle's automatic rear door stopped working. We called in to Gillard's and Graham checked it out and told us what he needed to do. When we picked up our original vehicle at noon that day we swapped vehicles and believe it or not we were able to pick it up at close of business the same day. There is just no messing around like you usually find with so many other garages. Graham Gillard's garage is simply the best you will ever find.

My vehicle broke down 200km from home and I needed work done on my LH rear wheel hub , I arranged for a whole axcel to arrive the very next day which meant the 3hr job could have been finished within a day or two but graham wanted to source the part himself because it was under insurance (markup on parts). Graham also decided to venture out and send invoice on work performed on the rightside wheel where insurance wouldnt pay. When i finally got vehicle back had my local mechanic examine job and concluded unnecessary work performed ...long story shortened... I had to pay an extra $200 unnecessary 3hr job took 5days i was stranded had to take a week off work waiting for repair. And have a whole axcel part just sitting in my vehicle unused...work done should of cost me just my insurance excess but i lost an extra $1200 on top all unnecessary..GILLARD MOTORS DESERVES NO STARSAdrian Moke

We had a ford laser dropped off at Gillard Motor's last night for a wheel bearing job , they were amazing over the phone and the job was completed earlier today awesomely quick . They also rang me when the job was done to let me know it needs other work . Gillard Motor's worker's are great to talk to , very much appreciated the quick booking and lovely service. Thank you.

Developed a fault in motorhome,rang up explained situation and they fitted us in ordered new part and we were able to get on with our day
