Cityhop Car Share

We lived in Auckland for two years and never owned a car, despite every possible human being advising us against this. Cityhop was the best thing we could have asked for. We used it for big groceries and day- & weekend trips using their available promotions. We never had any problems with either their cars or customer service. Can absolutely recommend.

Used Cityhop 3 times, was 3 times too many. Their customer service is beyond terrible and they seem to think providing the basics in service is above them, so rather than just doing the right thing to rectify issues caused by their service they make things worse with their responses. Below is my experience, and Cityhop's response in each case.HIRE 1: Cargo van boot was jammed shut and would not open. This meant loading/unloading a large sofa was made very difficult having to use the side door. Fault was reported at the time of pickup. No response received from Cityhop until months later when I reported further issues on another hire (see below).CITYHOP RESPONSE: When I did get a response I was told it is a simple fix

Great idea, love the option to hire a car for a few hours and still be able to extend. Login to the app is super easy and quick.I had a little issue to unlock the car which was solved through the customer services within a couple minutes.Definitely recommend.

City hop cars are an amazingly convenient concept. Our car was stolen so we needed to get around and we decided to give this a go since we see a car near our place. The rates are good and the cars are kept in a well maintained condition. Would highly recommend it and it’s very secure especially when you need to get around urgently and run errands unlike an uber you have the convenience of being able to get around your own pace. I had an issue with unlocking the car but a quick call to their support team and it was resolved immediately.

I wouldn’t even give these guys a one star rating!! We booked our car in wellington and had to be at an event. The car was not even at the assigned park and when we tried to find an after hours contact as this was a Saturday morning, we only got answer machines.Unacceptable and unreliable in my mind. Total waste of my time!!

Absolutely hob shyte service. Why have terms and conditions which state otherwise and contradicts applications. If you want to be a game changer in this business, invest in your own systems instead of relying on 3rd parties.

Such a great idea. Loved the whole process from signing up and getting our van. It saved us having to get a trailer. Also was affordable and easy to get to a van. Loved the idea of unlocking with a card and the keys were secure with the van which was great for me as I loose keys ALL the time. We loved being able to book it online and extending the time was easy. Would totally recommend. Huge thanks CityHop.

A bad experience today with CityHop. Firstly their Van in Pukekohe is out for some time and I had to drive to Botany Downs and back to get a Van. Secondly, I was trying to get in touch with the customer service to ask a question from 8am to 9am but no answer! You would think if they have their vehicles available from 7am someone would be there to resolve issues and help customers! On top of that the vehicle fuel card was not working saying that the limit is reached for the month so I had to pay by my own credit card, I am interested to find out later if they are going to charge me for fuel. Most importantly, I realised that the front tyres we worn off completely, I am pretty sure it is illegal to drive a car with such a tyres. I am going to sue them for putting my life at risk and renting out vehicles that is not road worthy!

Budget service at above average prices.* Made a booking, check engine light came on. Finally got hold of someone, instructed to return to different site and change vehicle. No apology given for inconvenience.* New booking was made incorrectly (was charged for time spent returning the first vehicle!). Had to waste more time on hold have that corrected.I mean, I'm still going to use them again (what other competition is there...) but don't expect great service.
