Well firstly, it's hard for me to base a rating on the inspection as I'm the tenant, not the owner. So I don't know what the results were. But, based on the communication I had with the appointment being booked and how friendly the man was who done the test I would give it a high rating.

Initial contact occurred when Healthy Homes introduced themselves. I appreciated how they explained their role. After an initial date was set family circumstances changed and i had to ask for an alternative date - this was organised most courteously and without fuss. To my embarrassment the situation changed again requiring yet another change of date. Again the response was swift, courteous and helpful. The inspector who came was professional but friendly,. He took time to explain what he was to do and how much time he would require. He listened carefully to my comments about very minor points and and was at no time patronising, impatient or condescending. Altogether an unfussy and stress - free experience. A.W.

The inspector who assessed our home was delightful. He was polite, thorough, informative, trustworthy, timely and professional. He moved around the house with care and a great deal of attention to detail and had a lovely manor while in our home. He even gave us some great tips, including showing us how using a laser pointer like the one he uses could keep our two wee kittens entertained for hours. A really fab experience. Thank you. I highly recommend, 5 star rating from us.

Healthy Homes NZ is an honest and not trying to rip you off at all. However, I had many challenges in dealing with them.The initial assessment they did was reasonably accurate, responsive and good value. However, they did make a poor recommendation to place a heat pump above a fireplace, which I later found out was not an acceptable solution.In addition to the assessment, I used Healthy Homes NZ to organise some of the works required to bring the house up to standard, which is one of the services they offer. This I would not recommend.Basic changes to quotes (removing items or pricing alternatives that their team had recommended) took months and a lot of follow up correspondance - and they would often come back half complete. It's been well over a year since my initial assessment, and almost 8 months since I paid deposits on the work to be completed, and the work is still only partially complete. Given the timeframes required for HH compliance - these types of delays can compromise your ability to meet obligations as a landlord, and are therefore unacceptable.I would use this business for the assessment component of a standard home again, but I would not recommend using them to organise any works that need to be completed as a result of their assessment.
