The Bunker Restaurant

Atmosphere was lovely and staff were super inviting, interested and friendly. Food was pretty good, but a little lacking oomph, although the presentation was beautiful. It felt like a place that was very focused on being a fine dining establishment with very little portion sizing, but food that lacked substance. Audibly very quiet inside. Tables also seemed a bit close to each other and I could easily hear other couple’s conversations.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Very cosy. Good selection of wines.

Patrick & Fin was great.Customer service 100% on point and knowledge & willing to try to make new things to cater to my requests was fantastic do yourself a favour and visit this place you won't go wrong.

Have a lot of constructive criticism for this place. Booked here thinking it would live up to other 5 and high star rated restaurants I've been to.The menu could do with work - so much of it is to sell" and there are components that don't pair together as well as thought to. Or there is no sauce/dressing that pulls your meals together??My scallop entrée was overcooked.I ordered the horopito gnocchi for main & while I didn't mind this I don't think the witloof was a good pairing choice.My partner ordered the "leg of duck" which also stated on the menu it was a "lollipop" and the meat came out sliced - no lollipop to be seen. Most likely the same amount of meat; but you can't advertise it as this if that's not how you're serving it.Dessert was definitely better but wouldn't rave about this - chocolate & créme brûlee.Staff telling us what was in each meal was definitely appreciated.. but this needs to be stepped up more - checking if the plate is correct and asking if patrons would like other drinks; this is something we experience in EVERY restaurant and with it being exempt takes away from our kiwi "friendliness" in business.Bathrooms need re - done. These feel like a public toilet with the stainless steel everywhere..The experience in the restaurant turned the night on a sour note; but what made it more so was that - when I went to pay the bill for dinner. I went to tip due to the knowledge your restaurant waiters have.. but when I did your system wanted to charge me 4% to leave a tip? I have never come across a surcharge to tip?? This already an experience that costs more based on the "higher" end experience

Absolutely loved the venison- so tender! Wait staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Got hiking suggestions as well as one of the best meals of my trip. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Faultless.Absolutely blown away. Penelope in particular was on pointe, lovely, perfect knowledge and witty. I grew quite fond of spotting how quickly the teams would spot empty water glasses or fold stray napkins table to table.They were beyond quick, consistent and on brand. The food is to die for. Literally would have been happy for that to have been my last meal, the chef(s) are genius'. I don't think I'll ever taste anything like it ever again, all seafood and red meat was devine.Can not praise the staff highly enough, nor the food, nor the ambiance. 100% worth the money. Thank you!

We had a bottle of wine and 5-cpurse meal. The ingredients were all from local, very elegantly prepared and delicious. The service was great.

Very cute and romantic restaurant, and the food was excellent. The service was superb with multiple waiters and experts on the food and wine stopping by. We did the 5-course tasting with the wine pairing, and loved everything. However, keep in mind that it was not very much food! You may be hungry after unless you do the 8-course or eat something small beforehand.

Dark and cozy, truly like a bunker. Love the fireplace, really adds to the vibe. The full rack of lamb is tender and delicious, though very large portion even for 2 people! Perfect with a glass of Merlot. The salmon with prawn salad is super fresh and tasty. Chase looked after us, he was very friendly and attentive! An ideal spot for a romantic date night.
