Southern Cross Lodge
A fantastic place to stay while hiking the Te Araroa. Friendly service, spotlessly clean and awesome facilities. Loved having a laundry and great drying room for all our gear. Breakfast included was great as was the spa and pool. We would highly recommend.

Had a nice stay at the Southern Cross Lodge for 2 nights. Maddy, the managers step daughter kept us entertained last night. Was quite a treat. The lodge generally caters for the skiing community so the rooms were small but still comfortable. Our room included a complimentary light breakfast of cereals and toast with condiments.The manager is a great guy who made us feel welcome. Awesome all round.

Great lodge with very friendly and personalized service. Felt like we were the only ones there. Enjoyed a beer while looking over the pool before heading into town for dinner. Rooms are cosy.

Southern Cross Lodge
Best stay in a hotel during my five month journey of the Te Araroa in New Zealand. The hotel manager was extremely friendly and helpful. Facilities and amenities were perfect - great hot tub, cold pool and a comfy lounge area. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Will definitely return here if I come back to Methven.

Southern Cross Lodge
Very clean facility and host was very friendly and accommodating. I asked for ice for my arthritic heel. He fixed me up with ice and an extra washcloth and asked me at breakfast the following morning if it felt better. Highly recommend this lodge!!!

Fantastic place to stay, lovely couches to sit in front of the fire, super friendly welcoming staff. Would highly recommend for families, couples and everyone to staff here! Beautiful breakfast too!Lovely clean rooms and very comfortable beds!

Fabulous place to stay. The hosts Gordon and Michelle were cheerful and helpful. The place was as clean as a whistle . Great swimming pool and spa to enjoy. Lovely common room area with fire , and we enjoyed darts, pool and bowls. Breakfast provided was super. I would highly recommend Southern Cross lodge and we will be back .

What a lovely place the Southern Cross is! the staff are friendly & very helpful! it has a games lounge with pool table, table tennis, puzzles etc! a swimming pool, spa pool, nice dining room (only able to do continental breakfast at the moment due to not being able to get a chef), but the atmosphere there is great & makes you feel at home! the only negative thing i could say is that even though they have a jug & cups in the room there was no t.bags, coffee, sugar or milk, but they are easily accessible in the dining area. Highly recommend it!
