I don't like kiwi fish n chips. I've tried many times here, but it seems that the kiwi way of frying stuff is just a mess. Anything becomes dense, soaked in oil. I'm giving Uncles a 5 stars anyway because I decided to try fish n chips for the last time and this place was chosen. Again, not my kind of frying. But I gotta be fair: the flavour was amazing. The best I had in this country for sure. Less soaked in oil than all the others I tried too. So, I would rather eat a crispy dry" fish

Seafood chowder from Uncle's Food truck... Sublime. Full of chunks of seafood and most importantly NOT vegetables. The Base of the soup is creamy but not to thick and had lovely lemony notes. The blue cod was super fresh, white flesh, flakey and perfectly cooked in a light crispy batter.Unfortunately the fish needed to be drained longer so the chips underneath didn't go soggy. We ate in the car so got to eat the food while it was still hot and delcious. If you get it delivered ask for you fish to be in a separate container.

A little pricey for fish n chips BUT fresh fish cooked beautifully. I give it a 5 because it's the best in Invercargill but I find the chips a little average. Keep an eye on their facebook page to get seasonal stuff.

The food was amazing. We had blue cod meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately the service was way below par.We will certainly go back for the food and hope that the appropriate training is given to the staff.

Delicious! Best I've had yet since living here, the only place where I've come back for seconds & will be a regular for sure! Love the batter on the fish... light & crispy. Fried bread is fluffy and a large portion that went well with our vinegar mussels & raw fish.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Iwas a regular customer at Uncles however after spending $60 on three meals (extra charge for sauce) and really disappointed! Ordered and paid for food then told they don't have the usual chips.....chips weren't cooked enough, both fish and chips were greasy and I won't be back!

The best loaded fries I've ever had, very well cooked muscles, great fish and their rolls are mint. Would highly recommend.

If I can give you guys more then 5 star I would cause your food is absolutely amazing!! I literally just got a mushroom ribeye roll, ribeye roll and some battered mussels and holy lord baby Jesus it was bloody good!! Thank you for the amazing kai and keep it up I’ll be ordering more from you guys.
