Best picnic place ever! When with my friends few hours eating and chattering. Quiet surroundings just a few bugs but the tall trees give a very nice shade.

Beautiful at this time of year when the rose garden is at its best. Took a picnic and sat in a quiet corner overlooking the rose garden and inner harbour. Cities secret garden! Little hot house to stroll round before you leave that always has something to wonder at.

Old style parkRose gardens,hot house ,a defunct bowling clubNeeds a while new theme .very 1950s all it needs is a band rotunda.Expect a few ,OAPs admiring the roses,but suspect all admirers have gone the way of the Bowling Club

Love going here for quiet Picnic with Hubby an Family. Peaceful Park set amongst Beautiful huge trees. Has massive gardens on other side with giant Cacti an Rose Gardens plus a Tropical Forest Garden inside building you can go through for Free. It's beautiful ❤️ Also has own Toilet block open all hours. Usually kept very clean. Has Parking an the most amazing Views over the Harbour x

I think it all looked pretty unkeeped such a shame as it has a lovely view there's a dangerous drop down to the railway line that needs attention

Beautiful, though I wish the park's outdoor pond was more than just still water nowadays, with no fish nor water plants. The Tropical Plant House is well maintained and a lovely and peaceful botanical experience.
