Brian Ford Engineering - BRIFORD Trailers

Bought a 8x4 trailer from Briford brothers 2 years ago.They were both were very knowledgeable about their trailers and even gave me a tour of their workshop.They sold me this trailer with a great sense of prideful kiwi humour even my partner was In stitches and still makes trips with me when I need to go there just to see them. At the time this trailer was the best value for a NZ made trailer I could find in ChCh. Imported counterparts are generally not made as well and even when I put it through the warrant I overheard a conversation with the warrant people about a competitors imported trailer that was faulty as a new purchase. You pay a bit more for NZ made trailers but you get what you pay for. While we were waiting for the warrant one of the brothers from Briford went out of his way and fronted up with a receipt that I had left on the counter back at his shop. I work in landscaping and have used this trailer every day for the past two years, it has proven to be structurally strong and capable of moving greater weights then what is recommended. It is a solid and reliable well made trailer. I do highly recommend these trailers. Excellent after-care purchase service. 5 Stars overall. Thanks for my reliable trailer Briford brothers.

These guys build trailers with some clever thinking, right down to places for the gates to click into while open to plenty of tie downs, and you can load them up without tyres rubbing on gaurds... there are so many cheap imported ones about, like the one I had for 2 months and sold ! good on you guys for still building a quality product these days!!

Briford trailers last forever, and everything works!An established kiwi business. Since 1970's - ish?Totally iconic kiwi product. Great reputation and quality. They're knowledgeable about everything trailers. They're an engineering company too, so they can build practically anything you need. Or upgrade what you already have.The little Briford I use has twice the features of my mates foreign brand, and his tailgate sticks, the latches are upside down [ for real! XD ], the cage-mesh has torn, and the hitch actually separated from the drawbar! He's paid more in repairs than a new Briford costs. Numpty.

It goes without saying that Briford build the best quality trailers around!!! I dealt with Brian Ford directly for my 7' x 4' and he was great and took the time to explain and describe what he builds and how he builds it. I got a bit of stick for the imported" trailer I currently had which was looking quite sorry and sad. Brian went out of his way and gave me the name of a buyer (hay trailer for a farmer) whom I duly sold it to. All round a great guy and great company to deal with. If you want real quality

A rude and unappealing owner left me in no mind that he should step away from public dealings. His obnoxious remarks and ill educated understanding of my request, was based on the incorrect assumption, that I was from another section of the large company I work for. He has lost all respect and I would STRONGLY suggest you do not deal with such arrogance.

Hard to beat this guys for quality and their service, they were great to deal with and made a few custom tweaks to my order. Probably best value for money in the market, and from a local Christchurch manufacturer!

Appalling customer service! I was shocked at the way my staff were treated. Ordered the same specifications for a trailer which we have done so for the last 10 or so years but noticed the latest one had no anti slip on the ramp (Health and Safety Regulations). We called up mentioning this and got an extremely arrogant person on the phone telling us it was our fault, it wasn't part of the specifications and told to take our business else where. Very Disappointing considering the trailer it self is normally a good product.

I have had a Briford trailer for over 20 years, and for the first time it needed work done (wheel bearings) for a warrant. I rang Briford and found they could not only supply spares, but do the work as well. I took the opportunity to get the lights upgraded to LEDs and the spring bushes replaced and the cost was not much more than parts elsewhere. Even more pleased that I bought a Briford all those years ago. Great guys to deal with.
