Cruzy Campers NZ

I can not recommend Cruzy Campers highly enough for anyone that wishes to experience the wonders of New Zealand. Daniel and Kylie take pride in their business and I can safely say that you, as the customer, are their top priority.I did a fair bit of research before booking with Cruzy, and from the first enquiry I found them straightforward, honest and happy to answer any questions. They were reasonably priced (mid-range) but importantly had no hidden costs - many companies I immediately disregarded due to the complexity of their quotes! These guys had no relocation costs, no km charge and no fees for extras such as tables and chairs.They might not be as slick as some of the bigger operations, the vans not as shiny (or brightly coloured) but what they have in abundance is charm, and that made our experience all the more memorable. You have everything onboard you might need to be a happy camper - cooking utensils, cleaning materials, map, torch, plenty of bedding, pre-pay phone, table and chairs, towels, washing line and portable toilet which gives you the added flexibility of being certified self-contained, opening up far more sites for freedom camping. We found the bed very comfortable and van itself our cosy little hideaway at night.In addition to all this, I’d be willing to be bet their customer service tops all others: we had an issue with our van (it happens) on a Saturday night, just outside a small town in the South Island. We couldn’t drive on so had to phone in. It doesn’t matter that it was Saturday night and everyone was enjoying their weekend, Kylie and Daniel dropped everything to get us sorted. Daniel (who having met I presume could probably disassemble and reassemble an engine blindfolded with one arm tied behind his back and enjoy doing so) talked us through the likely issue and that we should get the van, in small bursts, to the most local campsite. (We actually ended up being put up in a Bnb for the night by some lovely kiwi folk but that’s another story.) From there, Daniel drove a new van on a trailer, 7 hours overnight from Christchurch (!!), to get to us for 7am Sunday morning so not to disrupt our trip. Meanwhile Kylie spoke on the phone to the Bnb about covering the cost of our stay. By 10am Sunday morning we had a new van, same spec as before, ready to continue our adventure. It truly doesn’t get any better than that in our opinion. That’s how you overcome a problem and put your customers first.At the end of the trip, when we sadly had to say goodbye to our Cruzy Camper, it was a real pleasure to get to chat to Kylie and Dan about our amazing experience travelling New Zealand for 5 weeks and how Cruzy Campers played such a big part in making it as magical as it was.

We rented a Cruzy Campervan for a 5 week travel on the South Island and it was an amazing experience. The communication for the enquiry and the booking was perfect and we did not have a single issue with the campervan. Old van but really good mechanical condition. We highly recommend it. Super great value for money. Thanks Kylie and Cruzy Campers, we miss our little home. :-)

We rented a van from Kylie and Daniel for a month on the South Island. Everything about the experience was 5+ Star! We called and talked with Kylie personally before placing the order and she even helped add plans for our trip. When we arrived they met us at the airport with the van and spent plenty of time getting us ready for the road. The van was clean, dependable, and came with everything we needed. Cruzy Campers is managed professionally and I absolutely recommend them for your New Zealand adVANture!

From the minute we made our initial enquiry to the day we handed back the keys to the van, everything about Cruzy Campers was just perfect. Our van (Sherpy) was a little older than most rentals you see on the road but we knew this before renting so it wasn't an issue. Nor was it an issue on the road, we covered nearly 6,500km without any problems at all as the vans are mechanically very well maintained. Our van had everything we needed for close to 40 nights of freedom camping across New Zealand. Kylie and the rest of the team were very accommodating too, we had to change our booking slightly but this wasn't an issue and all communications were quick and hassle free. We had an unbelievably good time in New Zealand. Cheers guys.

We loved our 19 day tour of NZ South Island in their petrol campervan (its very last outing before being sold!). Kylie and Dan were so kind and friendly throughout. We’ve got so many fond memories now!

We are world travellers with some camping experience and highly recommend Cruzycampers!Kylie and Daniel are very nice and made our camper life easy. Everything was organized perfectly.Furthermore they likely offer the best price/value ratio you may get down here.Yes, the vans are older but practically furnished with style and very well maintained!We felt like at home in our cruzy van during our 5 weeks journey through New Zealand!

6 out of 5 stars for Kylie and Daniel!With our trusty camper van we cruzed all over NZ in 10 weeks. Our van was somewhat older but superbly serviced, fully equiped (got a tent for hikes too) and with a great internal layout. We enjoyed every minute even on rainy days. Pick up, drop off and any communication inbetween (with the provided mobile phone!) was always smooth and friendly.Kylie and Daniel run a highly professional yet friendly family rental service with a fair prize tag. They do go the extra mile when you're in trouble and we are so grateful for all they did when we were involved in a major accident. This is THE rental company we recommend to our friends and family!.

The Cruzy Campers experience has been perfect from the first email contact.They are very reactive, always attentive and striving to make our trip perfect. and it was!They even wrote us to warn us of a strong storm (and thank goodness, because we did not know it and thanks to them we were able to change the route in time).We had a little problem the first day, and they solved it right away. There was only one thing to move from the car but we don't know anything about mechanics or cars, so they explained it to us very easily.Before the trip we had a lot of problems with the dates of our trip and they were always understandable and flexible, adapting to us.The van was very comfortable and well thought out.It has been a great experience.

We have rented from Cruzy for this our 5th 3 month tour of beautiful NZ. Traveled both islands top to bottom each time. The vehicles are well maintained and fitted for camping in NZ, but the best part is dealing with this family run business. Kylie is the front 'man' and responds promptly to requests for touring advice, mechanical concerns and scheduling or re-scheduling pickup/drop off of the vans. I personally like the size of the vans which fit the road condictions of NZ better then the larger cumbersome fleets of more expensive campervan that clog the roads.

Daniel was such a friendly and helpful guy! He brought our camper do our accommodation and was very thorough in explaining everything. But by far the best thing about Cruzy Campers is that they're so reasonable and understanding with any issues. The vans are very comfortable and spacious to sleep in, and not too difficult to drive. We really didn't want to give ours back at the end. If we ever come back to NZ we will certainly be booking with these legends again :D
