Superb Chef extraordinaire Phill and his team serve a seasonal dining experience rivalling the best restaurants anywhere. Presentation finesse and taste are paramount and if you are lucky enough to get the chefs tables -you’re in the preparation station to see the action yourself. Trained in Edinburgh by a Paris Michelin chef, Phill loves to share his experience with his guests. Taupo you are so lucky!

Go eat here! The food was incredible, every dish and the service was so warm and friendly. We had half of the group that are vegetarian, the adapted set menu was amazing we were so happy they could cater to us. I didn't expect to have such an amazing meal during our visit, and fully intend on making it part of the agenda every time we come to town.

If you are looking for something a bit special, this is the place for you. I can only describe the food as exceptional. It's one of those places that you will talk about for years to come and it's not just the incredible food, it's the whole package, the service, the wine, the attention to detail. Embra truly is an experience you won't forget in the best possible way and worth every single dollar.

We had a lovely time at Embra. The food was great, some of the dishes were incredible! The raviolo was definitely our favourite of the night. Great vibes for a relaxed tasting menu

A bit of a hidden gem in Taupō, I didn't even know this place existed until recently. We had the 5-course degustation with a wine pairing, and it was absolutely delicious. Some of the food could have done with a little more seasoning but the presentation, meal sizes and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be back when there's a new menu out.

Easily the best meal I've had in my entire trip. A non-expensive degustation rivalling those of much more exclusive restaurants. Service was excellent and the decor was tasteful.Will definitely visit again if I have the chance.P.S. The saffron lentil risotto is to die for.

Intimate, family setting. Flavorful fine dining dishes with seasonal menu and fantastic local wine pairings. Pleasant and accommodating service. Fun Edinburgh connection. Would love to return.
