Awesome and beautiful home. Very clean and cozy. Upstairs and downstairs. Outside spa and off street parking.

Great place, well kept and lovely location. Owner spends all day in dressing gown which is interesting.

Lovely B & B in a renovated older two story home. It is within a short drive to Caroline bay. The room is super comfortable. There is a very well equipped kitchen and a spa pool in the garden. Friendly hosts who were accommodating of our children.

Aa it's name states : sanctuary. It lived up yo its name. A non intrusive quiet place to relax.Lovely porch.with tranquil water feature going.Lovely rose bush to view on the porchCarpark not suitable for tall campervans. Due to overhanging treesProprietor Gerald offered me breakfast cereals tea and coffee.Note it's not a hotel so youget to check it yourself in. It's too easy

Please don't go with the previous reviews..there is no beach even though the name says beach side. Host refuses to acknowledge bookings and does not return calls even though voice messages are left. Host has a couldn't careless attitude. Never bothered to greet us laid on his couch and spoke. Property had a depressing atmosphere.. Cancelled our two paid days without a refund it was that BAD.P

Absolutely stunning and homely BnB, with a lovely friendly owner. The beds are extremely comfortable with luxurious bedding. Great shower pressure, even the toilet paper was luxurious. Free wifi, continental breakfast and spa use. Dog friendly, with a fenced section out back.This place ticks all boxs and is exceptional value for money. We will definitely be staying again the next time we are in Timaru.

First of all you are the one who checks your reservation at the entrance, indeed the owner is slumped in his bathrobe on the sofa with the sound of the TV on full blast (it was around 6.00 pm). No room reserved in our name. We tell the owner that we are visibly disturbing him during his TV show. He claims that he has no reservations in our name, strange since we were debited the sums for the 2 rooms and the day before we had received a message telling us that the spa was not working. He claims it's an automated message. My husband wanted to show him that we had indeed been debited for these reservations and show him the various messages indicating that our reservation had been taken into account. He never wanted to look at these messages, claiming that they were only messages sent automatically. After my husband insisted he looked for a hotel for us at triple the price and had to go back 40 mins (checked on google map) when he claimed there was only 20 mins . During this time, we also sent a message to our Airbnb rental which was 5 hours away to find out if we could arrive a day earlier, which in the meantime was accepted by the Airbnb rental. So we asked to cancel the alternative hotel. The owner made us quite a crisis about it, however at NO TIME did he apologize for everything that was happening and the fact that we had just driven 8 hours and that our reservation was given to others. In short, we have booked dozens of hotels around the world with Booking and I have never come across an owner who had nothing to do with travelers and such a lack of professionalism.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND THIS LAMENTABLE OWNER TO ANYONE MORE INTERESTED IN HIS TELE THAN HIS CUSTOMERS

This hotel has been recently renovated and it is really in great condition. Hope both the next visitors and the management keep it on as well as it looks right now. It has really cozy rooms with comfy pillows and beds, morning gowns, clean bathroom with toiletries provided, really organised kitchen with cookies, tea/coffee, fruits, juice and milk to prepare your breakfast. The people who run it are very caring, respectful and discreet. Great experience and recommended! -Couple from Europe-

At first glance it seemed ok until I read their directory in our room. It’s winter here in NZ so very cold. It said due to people leaving heater on overnight there is now a $10 charge to use heater. They said if you’re cold hop into bed and turn the electric blanket on. Seriously???
