I entered the workshop a bit sceptical even though I had heard a number of positive comments from friends. I left a convert. This is a special kind of session that achieves so much for women who have been through a lot of procedures in a short time and undergone a lot of physically challenging changes. We entered as strangers and left as friends. I particularly got a huge kick seeing a relatively young professional woman arrive straight faced and trying hard not to look defensive. By the end she had a beautiful smile on her face, looked gorgeous, and she was not alone. While most had a reasonable idea of how to apply makeup, this was a special session of pampering with a full set of makeup provided which was really appreciated. If you lose all of your hair, you need some special tips and tricks to create an illusion of normality. This LGFG workshop provided that. The workshop was followed up by a particularly delicious lunch and the opportunity to network with others with similar cancers and compare notes in a total supportive environment. It was great to catch up with one of the ladies in the hospital waiting room a few days later and continue the contact.I can't speak highly enough of the sessions and I would like to give a special thanks to the generosity of the fashion houses, employers and the volunteers that make this all so possible.Kind regards
