Pickle & Pie
Went to Pickle and Pie at 11: 45 on a Friday during Matariki (public holiday), despite being relatively busy service was fast and attentive ordered a iced latte and the pizza scroll as seen in image unfortunately the scroll was a disappointment that lacked flavour and was greasy, the coffee was very weak, barely any bitterness, I suspect that they use a single shot as standard although don’t know why, atmosphere is quite nice and helps to lift this cafe up to 4 stars in my opinion although I would argue 3 stars is satisfactory as well, I also ordered a takeaway peach crumble which I haven’t eaten yet but based on previous experiences, their slices seem quite delicious overall decent cosy cafe for a good price, can’t comment on menu food however as haven’t tried

Stopped here recently for a Quick brunch on a Saturday morning and I was blown away for more than one reason - courteous staff, quick service, great indoor and outdoor ambience and most importantly tasty food. Walked in- immediately greeted and seated. Ordered sourdough bread with spicy scrambled eggs and coffee. Initial thoughts - pricey. But when the order came through, I must admit it was worth every penny. It was a visual treat and tasted amazing. A humble dish elevated to a whole new level and generous portions. Needless to say - I literally cleaned up my plate. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend this place.

Pies are far from good. Fillings were just okay. One pie came cold in the middle with a warm plate(microwaved?) Everything seemed ubderseasoned.Banoffe pie was borderline inedible, tasted like powdered sugar and no banana or coffee or even caramel taste. 1.5* for food.Everything was overpriced ($12 for a below average pie?!?!). Servers were bickering, and food took so long, we ended up having to ask for our food since we saw it sitting on the ledge for so long. When we got served the server came across rude.Nice feeling restraunt, picturesque, but crowded and noisy.I got a brisket pie(average bakery pie size), banoffee pie and a hot chocolate for $26 which is really outrageous.

Just scored brunch in time thanks to lovely wait staff. Chocolate French toast with fried chicken very yum, although chicken may have been a tad on the drier side but no fuss. Great food and location

About $26 for a pie for lunch. The pie was okay with tasty brisket and cheese filling, but a bit underfilled and with slightly tough pastry. The fried chicken burger had a nice spice in the batter. They don't serve coke (yes, that kind of hipster place) and don't have WiFi (fine if you're a local). Coffee was unremarkable. They had nice looking cakes but we didn't have time to try them.

Love the pies they have!Just like the name suggested, this is the place to have lovely pies.I triedThe place was packed when we came during lunch time but we didn’t have to wait too long. They have various kinds of pies, sweet and savoury. They serve brunch and lunch. They have lovely deep dish apple pies in creamy yogurt, choco pies, mushrooms & truffle pie, beef brisket & smoked cheese pies and more! I tried the mushroom & truffle one and I love it.The staff is very friendly, the place is nicely decorated and strategically located as well.Happy to come back here!

Food, service and atmosphere are great here. We have tried three pies in different flavours - mushroom, beef, and venison. They are all tasty and presented nicely. If you look for a place hanging out with family and friends, here is the place.

Great place to eat or just to have a coffee. It was famous for its large Reuben sandwiches made with home made pastrami which are, unfortunately, not on the menu any more. Still, it is a place that delivers.

One of the best Deli Cafes in the city. Bit off the main streets and crowds, but absolutely worth to find. They open early morning to serve breakfast with multiple options to chose from , amazing deli and sandwiches including some vegan options. As for the name they have some selection of house made Lisa’s, but my absolute favourite are pickles. Best thing is you can even buy them in jar and take home. Good coffee with nicely tasting blend and several alternative milk alternatives. Also good choice of tea options to chose from. If you are after something sweet there are some cakes and muffins to chose from. Nice and friendly staff! On a sunny day, best is to grab one of the outdoor seats and enjoy your time.
