Great location, terrible experience. Worst customer service I have ever received. upon arrival we were given our key and pointed to a doorway that led us into a mall. We weren’t given instructions on how to find our room it took us 20 minutes to figure it out. Extremely dodgy hotel, And upon checkout we weren’t able to get our deposit back until 11, I emailed them my account info and called twice asking for the receipt to confirm that they had put it through, i didn’t receive it at all. Sketchy as heck also the people in the room next to us were smoking meth with their door wide open. definitely not a place to take the kids.

Thankfully, our stay definitely wasn't as bad as the reviews suggested, which was a relief. Clearly what you are paying for is the awesome location - you can't get much more down town than this! The lady in the office was friendly on check in and the room itself was pretty cool - nice and spacious with cool features (loved the brick wall and window!) Yes, the cleanliness needs some work, but the linens were all fresh and the toilet clean. Overall we would stay again for the location, but this place would drastically be improved with a deep clean (including hallways!), a stocktake of things like bowls and spoons etc, and better signage and lighting to find your room.

Very good location within walking distance of most of cbd, but that's about all I can say that was good about the stay! The elevator was out of service, hallways not lit or very dim. Also had a very confusing lettering system to find rooms, Hallways smelled of urine, the room I was in was relatively clean but had paper-thin walls and could hear everything that went on in rooms on either side, the bathroom also had no ventilation! Some other guests on the floor i was staying on decided to throw somewhat of a party in the shared facility area with beerpon and various drug utensils left out for all to see, police were eventually called by the manager, by this time it was well after 1am. The area was left in a disgusting mess and was not cleaned when i checked out at 9am, it still had split fluids and food splatted on walls and drug utensils still not removed! Will not be staying again!

Our room had leaking pipes the bathroom was really small none could change or move around. There was no mirror, not cutlery and only 2 charging ports and we had to charge 5 devices. There was bugs on the bed and a bunch of dust and dirt there was also blood stains on the bed. I got lice from Aura Hotel and I am trying to get rid of it. I don't recommend and it's not worth your money

I am very disappointed with the quality and service of my stay at Aura Hotel.Firstly, after checking in at 2:30pm, I went to my room to find that it was still being cleaned. I had to wait outside my room until 3pm which resulted in me being late and having to put my plans on hold.Additionally, I found the cleanliness very unhygienic. It was absolutely disgusting to see the many stains on the mattress as well as a blood stain on the duvet. The mattress also had no mattress protector - we could see the stains through the sheets. From personal experience working in housekeeping, the cleanliness of the room was not up to hygienic standards at all.I am not happy with the amount of money I have paid for this room. After having a good first experience with this hotel, I decided to book again here for this trip, however after this experience I will not be recommending or making future bookings with Aura Hotel.

After hours booking was accepted. Wrong keys available to collect. Finding the room was impossible, faulty lifts and no lighting in hallways. Room was disgustingly dirty especially the bed, sheets hadn’t been changed. The rudest service from the reservations lady I have ever experienced in 40 years. Emailed to request a refund, not actioned on. Followed up with multiple phone calls but was hung up on and directed to speak to management however would not provide managements contact details. ( receptionist is likely the manager but pretends not to be ) And tries to avoid you through this technique. Do not stay here even if you are desperate! You may as well throw your money in the drain and walk away. We will be following up on legal advice as these business should not be able to trade and provide this low level of service and then not deal with complaints. Absolutely disgusting.

I've been to some sketchy places, but this one ranked right up there with the worst of them. The good points were the hot shower and decent wifi. The bad points were the rooms without windows, the shower right next to the bed, the shared kitchen that was last cleaned sometime before Bowie died. The walls were so thin that you can easily chat to neighbouring rooms. The highlight for me had to be the shared toilet that some poor individual had completely destroyed which remained in this state from sometime before our check-in, until after we checked out 4 days later. Most public rest rooms are more sanitary than this hotel, if you can even call it that.

Cheap place to stay but confusing as hell, no reception after 7pm had to get key from lockbox which wouldn't open, walk through a mall to a airy hall, dried blood on the bed no proper duvet cover utensils were dirty, drawing on the wall no toilet paper or hand soap. Also the key to unlock the door with all the rooms is the same key to unlock our private room?

DISGUSTING SERVICE by the receptionist! Was seen first hand by the couple before me and my partner, she was very rude to them and demanding, had absolutely no care for what they were saying when they asked her a question. Was rude to us as well, no 'hello or welcome' was met with a blank face, was very hard to understand when she was explaining to me how to get the room, she could have spoken a lot clearer. Very confusing when trying to find our room it is like a maze, if it wasn't for some cleaner we would have probably ended up in someone else room. Room was dark, no windows, no air conditioner or fan, very surprised it was what we booked, the drawers were full of dust on top the of them, when we woke up in the morning found that the mattress protector was covered in all sorts of stains! The walls were like paper, could easily hear the person next door watching tv, having a shower, walking around as all the rooms have wooden floors and so does the corridors. Signing out she just yelled at us from her little office when we went to drop the key saying just put it the box, I then asked about the bond payment she said she will do it when she's ready and once she done an inspection of the room that afternoon(hope she saw the stained mattress protector). Overall very bad stay. Would recommend spending the extra money on a nicer hotel to stay in. Only good thing about this hotel was it was close to everything. Do not recommend staying here at all. Would like to see a health and safety officer go undercover and see what its really like!

Central location, handy to buses, nightlife. There was a brochure rack of things to do in the corridor.Receptionist was not helpful, and one could potentially get lost trying to find the way to the room. The room was one of five off a central communal lounge, kitchen, dining area, but I didn’t see any other guests using the area. There was a microwave, toaster, and kettle in this area, with tea and coffee sachets provided in the room. The room had a bed at one end, kitchen bench and fridge on one side and a shower on the opposite side at the other end. Plenty of storage with a dressing table, a tall boy and a bedside unit. There was a TV on the wall, a fan and a heater, which was great as it was cold and raining outside. Sturdy luggage rack/ table but no seat in the room. Extra blankets were not provided. There was no dishwashing liquid even though there was a sign that said do your own dishes. No window in the room, so very dark at night. Towels, shampoo and soap provided. The shower was dirty.
