This bookshop thrums with energy. People may find the browsing a kind of contact sport at times given the size of the shop and the constant flow of customers but it only adds to the charm. The owner darts around the store, managing staff and helping customers. You feel like a member of an orchestra in which she's the maestro conductor. They're pretty good book hounds too, I almost enjoyed watching them hunt a book down in the store more than finding it myself. I've heard they're pretty good at ordering things online too. The final testament to this shop is how freely they recommended the 2nd hand bookshop nearby when they didn't have a title. Love the community spirit.

Unfriendly and unwelcoming. I walk in, smile at the person behind the counter and they look away. So far, so quirky independent book shop. You get the same welcome at Marcus Campbell in London and I LOVE that place. Anyway so I browse. The selection of books is wonderful. Then some other people walk in and the shop assistant comes alive! Engaging them in conversation, running to show them this book and that, without so much as a you alright? to me. Confusing. Unpleasant.

My go to place for books! In the hub of the city this bookstore takes you back to a small town or a laid back bookstore. The place is filled with tons of great readings. I am not a person inclined to a particular genre and this place just makes me read a new kind every time i walk in. The staff is lovely and helpful! A must visit for book lovers !

This would be a wonderful bookstore if you knew where to look. It is so overcrowded into such a small space and stacked to the rafters. Having said that it is nonetheless worth a look if you have some hours to while away I am sure there would be some gems to find. We did not at the time we came across this bookstore but I would go back again when in Auckland but allow some more time to look about properly.

super cute lil local with well curated selection of offerings in stacks that are decidely throwback in their organization and presentation. The aroma of ink and paper is oh so sweet!

Best bookshop left in Central Auckland. Friendly staff, great selection of books on a myriad of topics. Nice place to immerse yourself in for hours. Only issue is its a small shop so you have to compete with the other customers for space.

There's alot of genre of books to choose from. They also have a specific section for NZ Authored books which means that they really give so much value. Staff are friendly. The place is cozy and quiet.

A beautiful place, exceptional choice and good customer service. It's nice when bookstores are shaken up in today's world with the advent of digital and the culture of the click and the moment. NZ resists.Note: I’m happy to find kiwi books about the history of a country and a city that come to be mine.

Great book store, beautiful books and readings. Always has what I'm looking for

This is a great independent bookstore located in the centre of Auckland with a good selection of books and very helpful staff. I was able to find books on New Zealand culture history and personalities. It is wonderful to see such bookstores in 2023 as we go deeper into the digital era.
