I will never deal with these lying thieves again,1. Didn't have the car I booked2. they charged me $520 for not returning my key on time after agreeing they wouldn't.3. Charged my credit card even though they did not have my authority as I did not agree with the charges.Overall a treacherous company to deal with and dishonest Christchurch staff hay Deb.

After being stranded at Sydney airport by a delayed plane, Alamo was able to easily help us and rebook for the next day. They even upgraded us for free as the car we had chosen was rented out. Would use again, and would recommend!

I have just returned from a holiday in NZ. I rented a car from Alamo in Christchurch and I can only say that the customer service I received was outstanding. The lady, Deborah, that helped me was so helpful, kind and willing to please that I would definitely recommend their service.

Absolutely disgusting. Please do not book with this company. Please avoid this company. The receptionist was disgusting and rude. She did not seem to be happy working there at all. She just not happy and not friendly. When you talk to her, you feel like you owe her million dollars.Booking reference: 733155809I went there on 11/04/2023 at 1:50pm to pick up the car, she said she needed my credit card for $200 deposit.I said I only got debit cards and cash. She said NO. I said I can call my friend in Melbourne and provide his credit card to help. She said it has to be face to face. I said I have cash to pay, she said WE DO NOT HAVE A TILL HERE. I was like you got to kidding me, you running a business, you don’t have a till?I asked to speak to her manager for help because I was so stressed. She also said NO. She said: you can check with other companies here to see if they have a car for you. So she did not even want my business. PATHETIC.All I want to say is, she just not wanting to provide any support considering I am an international tourist. I wanted to ask her: how did you manage to get employed from the beginning? How?I really wish this company to investigate this case. If she is there to work continuously. This company will only get more and more negative feedback from the customer. Good luck.

I rented from them thinking I was getting a car that was a late model and in great condition. The car I got had 100000 km on it, was chipped all over the hood and, as I discovered a day later, a bald tire. Also odd noises from the front end. I considered the vehicle unsafe. Trying to contact the company was a bit difficult but once contacted, the response was appropriate, offering to swap out the vehicle. At the end of our rental, we received an additional couple of days free rental as a compensation for the poor vehicle we initially had. On picking up this new vehicle, while the checkout documents listed no issues, we found several large scatches, a missing wheel cover and multiple windscreen chips. We refused to accept the vehicle and after 40 minutes, got another vehicle that was fine. The counter staff try hard, but whoever check the vehicles might be better trained and have time to adequately check vehicles.

We hired a car for 4 days in Christchurch, my staff member was pressured into getting 'extra insurance' for the 4 days, he only had 44 kms to drive the entire time but with extra insurance this ended up costing nearly $600 ($60 per day for the insurance!!!!) this was for the cheapest, smallest car! I would not recommend at all, get an uber instead!

Revised. Phoned to try find out availability of vehicles. What a joke. The person on the phone did not know where Christchurch or New Zealand is. This when phoning the Auckland number. In New Zealand

The service is great!But, and this is the big one, the price you will pay is probably the highest you can get. I rent a Toyota Yaris for 3 weeks with full cover and it costs me about 1600 nzd, for comparison I'm renting a similar level car from a different rental company(Omega) with full cover and different pickup and return locations for just 305 nzd (in Wellington which is more expensive).

Out of all car rentals I would most recommend great company fast book in has a great online book in service an fast with e-mail reply. They have every car to suit you. All up to date models too. Will be renting from them next time
