My biking buddy, Barbara, and I enjoyed our 2015 Bike/Barge trip so much that we booked the Prague to Vienna cycle tour as our 2018 challenge. What a great experience we had visiting several UNESCO World Heritage towns along the way as well as chateau and historical sites such as the sobering remnants of the Iron Curtain. We couldn't have wished for more customer focused, friendly and helpful people as Jitka, our tour leader, and Henry, our support vehicle driver. We certainly enjoyed doing the tour with them as it was so well-paced that we handled the 82km day easily. This year, 2019, we're booked to do three cycling trips: the two trips across France from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and the Bike/Barge in the Camargue. It's such a great way to be in a country.

I can recommend the World Expeditions trip to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, The guides and staff were excellent, the food amazing, often cooked under difficult conditions. This tour was very well organised, each day we were well briefed about what to expect the next day on the Trek. Each day we were well looked after including transfers to and from Tribhuvan International Airport. Inter

On the 6th June 2019 I embarked on yet another trek with WE in the Nepal Himalayas, my 4th in the past few years. At age 66yrsUpper Dolpo Traverse is a fantastic camping and trek trip in a very remote part of Nepal over six passes from 4306-5550m of varying degrees. Fabulous views of 6000m peaks plus , variety of track from hard to easy , deep valleys, raging rivers and waterfalls and the beautiful emerald green Lake Phoksundo.Meeting the Dolpo people of the area was great, hard working goat and yak herders, willing to have a photo with you and engage in conversation and inviting you into there home .There houses in the villages are all huddled together almost fort like . Not alot of villages in this harsh remote environment. Our leaders Bikash and Binod were fantastic, helpful, full of knowledge. Our cook and kitchen staff put together everyday yummy and nutritious meals all served with a smile . Also very careful to make sure I had a Gluten free diet ,me being Coeliacs .Acclimatization was not a problem with our guides monitoring our pace and making sure we were ok .This has been one of my favorite trips with the stunning scenery, meeting beautiful people, seeing schools and hospitals being built in the area ,visiting monasteries , care for the environment and variety plant life, all fantastic.I

I traveled with World Expeditions on a 12 day Antarctic cruise escorted by Dr Karl in Nov/Dec 2019. There was nothing to fault about the trip and it certainly exceeded all of my expectations. World Expeditions provided detailed information pre-trip to help in our preparation. Our Ship, Ortelius, was a perfect size with just 108 passengers. The accommodation was comfortable and the food was plentiful, varied, and tasty! All of the ship staff were friendly and efficient. The Captain had an open Bridge policy which was a great place to observe the terrain and wildlife from. Our Expedition Leader and Polar Guides were extremely knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing their expertise on the Antarctic and wildlife with regular informative lectures. Dr Karl entertained us with his humour and vast knowledge on a wide array of subjects. We were extremely lucky that the weather was kind to us for the trip to the point that they renamed the Drake Passage, Lake Drake" on our voyage over to the South Shetland Islands from Ushuaia! We got to partake in all planned activities - kayaking

A trek to Everest Base Camp is on many people’s bucket list and this didn’t disappoint. World Expeditions Trek to EBC in conjunction with the Himalayan Trust was a once in a lifetime adventure. Our group celebrated Sir Edmond Hillary and the work of the NZ Himalayan Trust by visiting schools and Kunde Hospital, facilities developed by the local community with the help and support of the Himalayan Trust. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by Dr Mingma Sherpa, the CEO of the Himalayan Trust in Nepal. He was able to provide many insights to the importance of education and health care to the people of the Khumbu region. This region has such rich culture, outstanding scenery and welcoming people. We felt privileged to be there. Our guides, accommodation, food and travel arrangements were excellent, with World Expeditions making this very easy for us to enjoy. Highly recommend.

The Backroads of Japan was perfect for us - a great mix of walking and using public transport. The food was fantastic as was the sake! Our guide, Ryoko, was passionate about the outdoors and gave us useful information about our surroundings. She was well organised and took great care of us. This is a trip for those who like to get out and about, learning about the Japanese culture as well as exploring this lovely country.

The Rwenzori Mountains are a deeply surreal place, home to the highest mountain range and only year round snow in Africa, despite lying close to the equator on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are a tough but rewarding place to hike, with the seemingly endless mud and high altitude (often over 4,000m above sea level) offset by incredibly diverse landscapes and flora. They are one of the best kept secrets in hiking, with less than 1,000 people a year exploring one of the most varied environments on the planet, with rainforest, bamboo forest, surreal sub-alpine and alpine zones, lakes, glaciers, and the third highest peak in Africa, Mt Stanley, at 5,109m.While the hiking may be tough, the organisation wasn't, with World Expeditions providing great support, and they have an excellent local partner in Rwenzori Trekking Services. This ten day itinerary is better than the usual seven day itinerary as it allows for a rest after climbing Margarita Peak, and a longer, more enjoyable return to camp at the end of the trip.

A big thank you to the team at World Expeditions for coordinating what was a wonderful trip to Japan in October last year for us. The Backroads of Japan was a great mix of some walking, some easy treks, some city highlights, some cultural visits in small town and rural Japan as well as proving to be a genuine local gastronomic experience for a wide range of Japanese cuisine found in the homes and small ryokans and onsens along our journey. The Kumano Kodo trails were more demanding but very achievable and enjoyable and certainly added to a further enlightenment of Japanese countryside, culture and rural trekking. Our local guides Tatsuro and Kenji were fantastic people, very genuine and passionate in sharing their country and imparting some knowledge with us. We look forward to returning again some time.

Inca Trail Fabulous trip - it was on the bucket list for all 5 of us. Henry was our guide and he had incredible knowledge of the history of the Incas and a passion for sharing this information. The porters who carried our gear and set up camp were amazing and the food on the trek was outstanding including a cake on the last day.. The trek was beautiful and quite manageable and our arrival at Machu Picchu was one of WOW moments that will stay in my memories for ever.
