What a gem of a place with the most ideal location. Ordered the Hawaiian Burger, chips and potato fritters.The burger and chips were generous, certainly value for money and satisfied our grumbly tummies. However, the potato fritters were the best I've ever eaten, soft potato inside and super crunchy batter on the outside.This is a meal I will not forget easily and sets the standard high for other takeaways.

This is next to the Opononi Hotel and is called Opo Takeaways, and has a picture of a dolphin on its sign. Its probably the best battered fish I've ever tasted, absolutely fresh and done the traditional way. I probably wouldn't get the chips again, the fish is all you need. It gets very busy (understandably) and the tables fill up, we waited around 30 minutes but it was definitely worth the wait. Busy time seems to be over by around 2pm. The fish is world class.

We ordered an egg burger, steak & egg roll, spring roll, $3 chips and a potato fritter which came to a little over $20. Food was nice and had great views of the hokianga harbour while eating. Just wish the roll was a little bigger but still not bad.

Great fish and chips and burgers! Actually the best! Not too greasy. Just super tasty. Can’t wait to come back. Plus the staff are so lovely.

Wow what a beautiful seaside township.Spectacular views of sand dune mountain ocean fresh air beautiful beach waves crashing up against the rocks.These moments in life you get to reflect on the beauty of the simple things in life that sometimes our busy day and life we miss.Well worth stopping standing and soaking in the atmosphere.Beautiful up here.

Friendly staff, great ice-cream.l flavors and a great array of takeaways. Eating the delicous Opoburger and garlic chips while sitting outside enjoying the Hikianga Harbour was super special. Must do!

Great fish & chips, best we have ever had. Also very affordable. View is stunning as well. To the owner: would be great to mention that customers have to order sauces at the same time as the food.
