Excellent space and will be a valuable asset for Whangarei for years to come. The combination of inside carving workshop, outside waka shelter and gallery/event space makes this a comprehensive active cultural centre. Team this with the friendly and informative staff, makes this a must visit for tourists and locals alike. I look forward to many return visits and the upcoming events. Kia kaha

A classic, beautiful building with great wines, a classy restaurant and great views across the vineyard. There's a great story told in photos of a destructive fire followed by the earthquake only 2 years later. It was a monastery long ago and there's a chapel now used as a wedding reception venue.

Having never visited Hihiaua Cultural Centre in 56-58 Herekino Street. Today was the day, as I had been told about The Woven Women- Wāhine Exhibition". Well worth a look and listen to the narratives of numerous Wāhine."
