The Retreat saved my life, I truly believe I wouldn't be here today without their help and support. The staff go above and beyond in what they do and their loving, nurturing approach to drug and alcohol recovery is like no other. The programme is top-class, food is incredible and is a beautiful community where I felt at home. I consider the people (guests and staff) part of my family and I will be eternally grateful to The Retreat for all they have done to help me. They have given me a chance to thrive in life sober and not simply just survive, which is something I never thought was possible. Highly recommend this place to anyone struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction, there is hope!

I arrived at the Retreat in May 2021 with a suitcase of clothes and forty years of accumulated baggage. Addiction wreaked havoc in my life. Dreams burnt to cinders . relationships wrecked or bleeding out. I had little hope that life had much more to offer me but more chaos & carnage.From somewhere. call it Gods whisper I found a small spark of hope. The staff all of them from facilitators & admin to cleaning & cooking treated me with respect & dignity. My fellow recovery peers were a mixed bunch . Addiction doesn't discriminate between class .race . gender . My crew" are still in almost daily contact eighteen months later . We have carried the lifestyle suggested at The Retreat into our future lives. Blew on the embers of hope & started a fire .The Retreat is not designed to be the 5 Star Hotel it is a place of refuge . A place to be safe

I can't speak highly enough about the retreat. It provides a safe, caring environment for people to regain their health. The staff are supportive, caring and knowledgeable. The 12 step program is a way for us to stay well.

The Retreat in Otahuhu took me in when I was broken and thought the world was against me. They cared and loved me back to peace and harmony in my life. I'm over 3 years clean now thanks to the wonderful staff that, thank goodness are understanding peers. The programme they do works. If someone doesnt recover it's only because they are so bitter they'd blame The Retreat and not take accountability. Dont believe a word against the Retreat. They are awesome and I loved the feeling of homeliness there.

The Retreat is named accordingly,It provides a safe environment where healing can take place.With loving staff, and a 12 step program, I was able to rediscover myself.I have gained a new life, and a new family.I strongly recommend the Retreat to everyone searching for a better life.Gaining the necessary tools to cope with everyday life, and a safe healing space provided by the Retreat, is what has saved my life.

Don’t go to the retreat if your there for the wrong intentions..Eg it’s not a place to prance around in designer wear with an entitled attitude looking for a girlfriend or boyfriend…I went to the retreat broken.. lost everything.. borrowed money to go there and it changed my attitude on life forever…The staff have all walked similar paths so talking honestly is not a problem..I’ve popped back for numerous cups a tea and catch ups with life long friends there and you feel so welcome there..the place sets you up to get on with life with a clean new attitude to carry on with life..

Amazing place for people who actually want sobriety. This place has saved my partners life and consequently mine too.We have learned so much from the retreat. It has given us beyond measure and is still is giving. I love Janet, Baz and Lisa for all that they have done for us.
