Grew up on the farm from 1944. Till 1950.My parents C W BIRCH &Mrs E A BIRCH Were there till they retired some years later. Growing up on the farm was great and to be associated with Dr McMeekan and Mr M J CAMPBELL was something to be hold. My brother (Sir William Birch) Bill and myself enjoyed the social side of the sports club ,Been able to play tennis & cricket.The first year or so mother was their cook come what may at the Home stead which catered for some 20 plus men,the homestead to us kids was like living a dreamThe memories I have of living at Ruakura are vast too many to tell in such a short space of time .WALTER BIRCH

Estuve en Nueva Zelanda de junio a agosto de 1976 en viaje de observación de producción de leche y sistema de pastoreo en este gran País y asistí durante la semana del field day que se ese año en Ruakura, atendido por grandes investigadores que habían estado en México de Ruakura, la mejor experiencia en mí vida profesional esta capacitación, extraordinaria estación experimental la de Ruakura, bien agradecido con Nueva Zelanda, Dios los Bendiga
