Started off all OK just signed up to sell a house. Had a buyer with no real estate agent, price and conditions done with a few extra emails on the conditions.Decided to buy another property (bare block of land) while the settlement was happening and all seemed OK there too. We pulled out of that purchase after reviewing the LIM ($1850).Then had online witnessing of docs due to covid (all cool and happy apart from the way the phone calls sounded, almost telling us off for not understanding why we were in a rush when we weren't told we were).We were told they would hold keys and not hand them over until they got the money released. Now the buyers didn't turn up to the pre inspection. All cool by us OK settlement happening at 1130am. Nope next thing I have messages from the buyer asking questions from the house with the keys without paying. Now I know they will say its a mistake during covid times but our little mistakes costed us money (questions emailed etc), this could have been bad and who knows what could of happened. We were told they would not hand the keys before payment. We were left in a vulnerable position. After being charged $1800 for the sale and $1850 for the non purchase we thought we might be financially compensated....... We were called and offered $100. Haha 2.7% of what we paid. They admitted wrong doing and admitted it put everyone in a vulnerable position but blamed it on covid and procedures. If we aren't getting a full trustworthy service should we be paying full price?I can't see how any purchase or sale would come in at the low end of their estimates. It feels like you are always on the clock.

Well unimpressed with this firm. I went here after a personal recommendation to sort a dissolution of a relationship - had a 40 min meeting to discuss my situation and 12 months later I finally heard back from them via email, only to be told they hadn't heard anything from the other party's lawyer - accompanied by a $1200 bill I was required to pay.

A frustrating and disappointing experience with this company. In general they were slow to respond, made some mistakes, appeared time poor and provided a poor service considering the fees paid.I required their services for a separation agreement and the financial settlement with my ex-partner. The agreement was simple and was not onerous. I practically wrote the agreement and put in all the figures to send to the other sides lawyer. The other sides lawyer responds with some points that cannot be claimed and this lawyer says something along the lines of “oh yeah this cannot be claimed”. I’m left thinking what the f*** am I paying you a ridiculous fee for then? You essentially admitted you haven’t been through what I drafted and just forwarded it on with the letterhead. Another occasion was where I drafted a response I had sent to them and I made a revision to some figures and asked them to update the previous draft letter I sent to them. They said Ok and then they send the old letter anyway with incorrect figures. Careless!Once the financial figures were agreed the final settlement letter had to be drafted. The other side took several weeks to complete this so I asked this lawyer to draft one up so we could close it out. She essentially refused to do so and said it would take a long time and incur big fees. My shock when I saw the final letter form the other sides lawyer and found nothing that would take more than 30 minutes to draft up. It was a very basic letter and they would have a template to use. This is goes back to the general reluctance to assist and feeling of you being a very low priority for them. They should not charge the high fees if they provide a poor service and/or are too busy to provide a good service.

Absolutely a law firm to avoid.They will take everything they can from your parents estate and offer no resolution and take no responsibility whatsoever. It is such a shame that all the work and effort that Ron Williams did has been forgotten
