Omokoroa to Plummers point is great… but 90% of the rest of the ride to Wairoa is along roads, not much fun at all and hardly call it a cycle trail. Maybe someone in council should head to the fantastic South Island trails to see what cyclists want!

The Wairoa cycle bridge is functional now and is absolutely neat to use. We cycle to the Black sheep restaurant and had a liwi burger between two of us. Delicious!! The cycle back to the bridge was well sign posted and quick. Thanks to all who put the track together. It is a feature for the Tauranga areas. Great!!!!

9 of us did this walk on May 17th 2021.Aged 70-mid 8o's.We walked from Plummers Point end of road carpark.Nearly 10,000 steps.Very well maintained cycle & walk way.Not much uphill, just a short stint up through the suburbs, then down to track alongside inlet again.Saw Spoonnbills, lots of other wildlife obviously hiding from hunting season.Only downer no cafe anymore, so take lunch with you.

Most of the trail is good, where its off road, but finish the bit off the bridge over the river as its extremely dangerous cycling against oncoming traffic and not having a clearly signposted path to the new cycle clip on.
