Wendekreisen Campervan Rentals

Our experience was unique as we broke down on our very first day of driving just outside of Corumandel town. It was Easter weekend, everything closed for the next couple of days and any support is hard to come by during times like these. Things happen that aren't in a companie's total control and this was one of them. However, Wenderkreisen pulled through by managing to find a replacement van, during peak season and compensated us for the time lost on our vacation since it was an unfortunate mechanical breakdown of their vehicle. The tech support along with Arti back at the Auckland depot arranged for the delivery and the help to get us back on the road eventually. Arti makes magic happen during stressful situations and this was one of them since it was no easy task to juggle all that that was happening.We love the set up of the koru star vehicles. They're well thought out, as is the cabinetry, the function of bathroom and the kitchen, fridge etc. For the size van it is, Wenderkreisen fit it all to our liking, however, we're thin people and that's important to know. Otherwise, size up. Our replacement van was the step down version of the koru star premium but the differences were minimal. It drove well and had hardly no issues. Treat the vehicle like it's your own and it will treat you well. All in all our experience with the company, the campervan and the indoctrination into it was a positive one for us.

Overall the experience was positive. Helpful responsive service with a smile. Could have had more time when staff explained how everything worked. Van very clean, a few loose screws in shower and step. Heater worked well. We had a problem unlocking the toilet cassette door but Dieter was responsive when we rang and problem was solved. Suggest a pair of pliers in the tool kit would have been helpful. No issues when returning van and appreciate the lift to airport during a busy time for the office staff...all with good humour. We found driving NZ roads challenging at times but the motor, tyres, and manual gears handled the hills and wet roads well.

Great experience, thanks to Wendekreisen.I had the budget 2+1 berth, an old model Toyota but she was great! No issues during my 1 month trip. Van was in good condition and went up the hills easily. Interior clean and looked newly furbished.Very good customer service, emails got replied usually right away. Ladies at the reception are so welcoming and got a proper introduction. Everything went very smoothly. Would definitely rent again when coming back to NZ!

As a couple, we rent a campervan (LDV brand) for over three months.The first impression of the car was good because it was very new, but the handover was too rushed. Later on, we found a lot of minor issues like an outdated handbook (we don't know how much PSI the tiers need), tires losing pressure quite quickly, the kitchen sink wasn't correctly working, also a backside window, and the big side door and some other issues.Even when we went to the authorized workshop/repair station, they couldn't fix it even though they couldn't pump up our flat tires. They said they haven't had the proper equipment". All these issues were very annoying

It was the first time to use a camper van in my life, so I can't really compare to other companies, but the experience overall was very positive. We rented a Koru Star 2 Walkthrough for 12 days from Auckland to Christchurch. As a vehicle, I found it easy to drive and fast enough for the NZ roads. And as a camper van, it definitely had everything we needed. The bed was confortable enough. The bathroom shower was nice. The gas range and fridge worked well. And we had plenty of space to keep the food and our clothes/bags. With regards to the service, it felt like it was a family business, for good but also for not so good (we had to wait almost an hour when we picked up the van). When we compared with other companies during the booking process, this one was way cheaper than the rest, so we are very happy overall with our decision to go with Wendekreisen.

Wendekreisen has very good and polite employees. They will help you with any questions and give suggestions for your trip.The campervan we rented made a lot of noise while driving and the clutch of the manual gear was VERY heavy while I'm quite athletic it was still a challenge in a city with lots of traffic :-)Still a decent price/quality compared to other rental companies in NZ I think.All in all it was a great experience in the campervan of Wendekreisen!
