Daily Bread — Ponsonby

Came here because always seems busy hence thought it must be good, I ordered the rhubarb donut and the bluberry custard danish, I was utterly disappointed, danish tasted average at best and the rhubarb donut tasted so sour it was like eating a lemon.....to top it off both were not fresh and slightly hard! Won't return

Great food and coffee...but I'm not keen on communal seating in the age of covid. Some customers show reluctance to move and make room. I was freshly showered..but perhaps they were thinking what I was thinking...who wants to be close to someone who you don't know who might cough or sneeze anytime. It's popular...and my coffee mates choice...as I said communal is not for me.

Food and coffee were great, but cleanliness was lacking. It's all well and good to have the food on display; but while I was sitting and eating, a bird came and got behind the counter to nibble on food that was then served to customers!!!! This was actually super gross.There were also flies all over the donuts that were being served. The food needs proper pest free display cabinets.I'm really sorry to say that, but it let the place down.

The coffee is burnt and staff is very unfriendly. I was waiting for my coffee more then 20 min and the guy making coffee said he called me but we were there and haven't heard anything. The only thing- all bakery is good.

Despite being extremely busy it was a pleasant experience. Didn’t get any coffee although I definitely will try next visit. The ham and cheese croissant and cinnamon bun were amazing! Great taste and texture. The blueberry danish was average.

Came here today, ordered a large hot chocolate and was about to 5 other items but the red haired girl behind the counter already put through the bill. I ended up telling her i wanted more but ordered only a custard doughnut and peach crumble danish since she appeared to be in no mood to be serving. I noticed her afterwards and seems like she was either overwhelmed or just not a happycamper but overall it was bad customer service. I ordered a large hot chocolate and got a very small cup (thing the order was put wrong?) that tasted like hot water. I've been to different daily breads and devonport has been the best but tried out ponsonby for the 1st time and am utterly disappointed in both service and quality. The doughnut + danish was great but sad to say that was the only good thing. Maybe it was just an off" day and i'll try again - will happily change review if service changes."

Daily Bread’s always a home run. They’ve done an amazing job with the fit-out which gives it a really nice atmosphere, and the service is always faultless. Bonus points for being open on King’s Birthday as well!Hamish DorringtonKakapo Business Sales

Delicious Ham & Cheese Crossaints.Great coffee - flat white was delicious.Interior was open, spacious and modern.Affordable prices being at around $12ish per person, for a Crossaint and coffee.
