This is a trip worth making. The drive in from the coast highway is beautiful. Once you arrive, the walk is fairly short, easy and well-marked. I wanted to see for myself if the water was as blue as the videos showed. It definitely is. It's a sight you won't forget. I don't know if many people don't realize there is a second, longer, higher, newer bridge over the same gorge just a short way past the swimming access, or if they just chose not to go a little further, but it was definitely their loss. It's all one big loop and exits out to the same car park, just at the opposite end.

Nice bush walk and beautiful water but probably not worth the detour and additional hour drive depending where you come from. Blue pools are more impressive.Bathrooms were good, clean enough.

Absolutely stunning. It was like stepping into another world, untouched and unspoilt. The scenery, the serenity... breathtakingly beautiful.

Simply amazing even when George the gorge isn't the regular milky turquoise colour. Milky white is also breathtakingly beautiful. The walk through the native New Zealand rainforests is mesmerising as you gaze up at trees that are 100s of years old.Hokitika Gorge (George)

Absolutely stunning! Photos don’t do it justice. A fairly easy walk. Tracks are good. Clear signs along the way.

This color of that water! This is an incredibly beautiful site, with a lovely trail leading from the parking lot through forest to two suspension bridges over the one blue Hokitika River. I am so privileged to have been able to see this spot, and especially to have seen it on a sunny day during Easter weekend.

Simply stunning.I recommend getting there early. We went at 9am and had the place to ourselves. Even though some of the gorge was in shade it was still beautiful. The easiest version of walk anyone could do.Yes it does mean driving away from the highway but I think it was worth it.

Easy walk around the gorge, took about an hour with stops and with a 6yr old. Take insect repellent for the first bridge and rock area! Loads of carparks.

Stunning, quick walk and suitable for kids. Remember not to swim! You don’t need me to tell you this place is beautiful, and indescribably so. Go, or be the one fool who didn’t. Add it to your trip!
